I saw the other thread in general about 90's music videos that just make no sence.

(Awesome idea sir...I think I haunt that thread the most as wait to see the replies to the various stories I peruse. I pray I am not stealing any of your thunder because your thread is a great...now that I have the ability to flag threads, you'll definitely be getting one!)

But as I searched for tunes to post there I just kept coming across music which I loved but didn't fit into the category of 90's or strange. Music is truely the soundtrack of our lives and I wonder what type of tunes form the musical score of your lives ATS?
I can't say I have personal favorites but some seem to stand out above the others...I'm sure we all have a few. Feel free to add them whenever you get the chance and don't be bashful...no one ever has just one:

Yoko Kanno - What's it For?

www.youtube.com...

Marie Carmen - Je reve Encore (I dream once more)

www.youtube.com...

Marianne Faithful - Summer Nights

www.youtube.com...

The Goodies - Cricklewood

www.youtube.com...

Level 42 - Something about You

www.youtube.com...

Graeme Revell - The Crow OST (Return to the Grave)

www.youtube.com...

(That one always gets me misty eyed...RIP Brandon)

The Jets - You got it All

www.youtube.com...

KMFDM - Sleep

www.youtube.com...

KMFDM - Dogma

www.youtube.com...

(The lyrics on this one blew my mind when I first heard them)

45 Grave - Party Time

www.youtube.com...

(This song totally rocks but the lyrics are ABSOLUTELY horrifying and will not be posted here. I still have times when I hate myself for liking it so much.)

Paul Shanklin - Bomb Iran

www.youtube.com...

(This one isn't a favorite but it's pretty much the funniest thing I have heard in a long time!)

What say you good people?

-Peace-

Well, I grew up in the early 90's and my very first album was 'Come on Over' by Shania Twain- I still love the album today!

Shania Twain - Wikipedia

Anyone else a Shania fan? haha

(I'm Canadian so I think it'll illegal for me not to like her!)
I'll see your "Impressed" and raise you a:

Shania Twain - Whose bed have your boots been under?

www.youtube.com...

Don't be a stranger good sir, I'll keep a chair reserved for you!

Oh, well it's in your genes to be 'Impressed' by then her then!

I've always had a thing for this song- I'm not too sure why!

While I was in grade 1 or 2, and everyone else was listening to .... I'm not sure but I'm gong to say Aqua or Backstreet Boys (Around that date anyway) I was the one with my Shania CD. Probably the only 7 yo who knew all the lyrics... I don't know how I discovered her! I think it must have been through my Mum or something. I'm not too sure how popular she was as an artist here in Australia.

haha. Great topic byt the way!

Cheers sir.
I can't speak for you but the percussion in that song always got my foot to tapping regardless of my mood.
Great choice I might add...(you win btw!)
I was never a big fan of country in my youth but as I grew older I began to realize that just because it wasn't heavy metal didn't mean it sucked. I have been playing catch-up ever since! But since we are on the topic of country music, I couldn't let this slide without a brief mention of this lil' filly:

Alison Krauss - Stay

www.youtube.com...

Alison Krauss - Oh Atlanta

www.youtube.com...

Alison Krauss & C.S.N.Y. - Teach your children Well

www.youtube.com...

-Peace good sir-

Sweet!!!
(I can't begin to tell you how many drunken fumblings in back seats I've had to that tune!)
Music from Oz....hmm, I think these guys are from NZ but this one ALWAYS got my blood pumping!
I hope you like it as much as I do:

Steve Wright - Black Eyed Bruiser

www.youtube.com...

AC/DC - 74' Jailbreak

www.youtube.com...

Please feel free to add more whenever you like...eventually someone will find one I have never heard and I LOVE those days!

-Peace to you sir-

To quote Vader:

"Impressive...most impressive."

Have not heard (more like seen) that one in a VERY longtime...nice choice might I add.
What could I possibly follow that with...

Annie Lennox - Don't let it bring you down

www.youtube.com...

I look forward to more of your choices.

-Peace be with you sir-

Had to return to post this tune. It should have been included in my first post and on ATS, it seems oddly appropriate:

Dave Mason - We just disagree

www.youtube.com...

Wonderful song IMHO that strikes the perfect balance of melody and message.
I hope y'all enjoy it as well.

-Peace-

We have a winner!
I am pretty sure that's not Richie Blackmore's daughter so you have indeed provided me with something to search for on the internet. Arigato Cody-san!

What could I throw up next....hmmm....

Cliff Richard - Power to all our Friends

www.youtube.com...

Cliff Richard - Wired for Sound

www.youtube.com...

Charlie Dore - Pilot of the Airwaves

www.youtube.com...

Juice Newton - Loves been a little bit hard on Me

www.youtube.com...

The Headpins - Breakin' Down

www.youtube.com...

Not exactly music to chill to on my part but still some good tunage nonetheless.
Thank you for the music good sir...I haven't used the torrents in a long time for that!

Pink Floyd Animals

As classic as it is epic, good sir!
In high school, art class was first period in my secondary V year and EACH morning, Pink Floyd's Animals was ALWAYS on the turn table...ALWAYS. Once (and only once) a student asked if a different album could be played instead. Not certain but I'm pretty sure he transfered outta art after he was declined in no uncertain terms by EVERY single student in the class. I think the teacher tried to placate him by putting on "The Wall" instead but I have a feeling that's not what he had in mind!

I'll see your Pigs and raise you a "Dogs" as heard on the show WKRP:

www.youtube.com...

I would have purchased that series but after a lengthy legal dispute, the new digital copies of WKRP removed ALL the classic rock in favor of cover tunes and "muzak". Totally ruined it IMHO.

Now for some more serious Floyd:

Pink Floyd - Waiting for the Worms (Clip from The Wall)

www.youtube.com...

Almost forgot my favorite scene from The Wall....Empty Spaces. The imagery of The Wall tearing across the countryside converting or destroying all in it's wake & shadow is one of the most vivid memories I have from my youth.

www.youtube.com...

Thank you for the selection sir...excellent choice...you know where to find me should you feel to post more.

-Peace be with you-

www.youtube.com...

Eric Clapton - My Father's Eyes

www.youtube.com...

Andre Rieu - Bolero de Ravel

www.youtube.com...

Pantera - Hollow

www.youtube.com...

Suicidal Tendencies - Nobody Hears

www.youtube.com...

One 2 One - There was a Time

www.youtube.com...

(I had an ex who a dead ringer for that gal!)

Mushroomhead - Sun doesn't Rise

www.youtube.com...

Mudvayne - Shadow of a Man

www.youtube.com...

Enjoy folks!

Will do Mister C.
I am so formal when addressing people as if I ever (and I mean EVER) spoke to someone without "sir" being added as a child, I was beat within an inch of my life by a mean military father who believed in the strap and the fist before a kind word and a kiss. After all these years it's a hard habit for me to break but I shall endeavor to be more mindful of this in the future. Thank you for the heads up.
Speaking of hard habits to break:

Chicago - Hard habit to Break

www.youtube.com...

Once more, thank you for sharing the music...these older songs really take me back!

-Peace be with you C-
