The cycles the op is talking are the repeated destruction and restarting of civilization, ie macro-cycles that are lost to history, what you seem to be talking about are micro-cycles that are not.

I still have no clue what your real view is. You seem to avoid stating what your belief is but still keep insisting that your view is the prima facie view. Certainly, you are destined at some point where your certainty will fail you. So, where does your certainty fail?

Richard Nixon erased 18.5 minutes of audio tape. Don't you think someone could erase 18.5 years of history? What about 1,800 hundred years of human history?

Would it be possible to wipe out 18,000 years of human history? Yes it is possible.

Why don't you tell us what your opinion is of the OP position?

How do you wipeout 18,000 years of evidence like ice cores, sediments, habitation sites, resource use, land, plant and animal modification, not to mention artifacts?
