According to the BBC they gave Assad almost a year to dispose of his chemical weapons

Syria's chemical weapons must be destroyed or removed by mid-2014, under an agreement between the US and Russia

So much for Kerry's two weeks.

Oh but wait.

US Secretary of State John Kerry outlined a six-point framework under which Syria must hand over a full list of its stockpile within a week.

That must have been the week Kerry was talking about.

This is good news.

Now Syria can go back to it's civil war.

And continue killing each other.

And we can, um . . .go back to making stern rebukes!

It is not really a civil war when you have militants from all over the middle east doing the US biding in a poor attempt to remove the Assad regime.

This war lost all civility when America became involved.

No war is ever civil.

My question is where is the US's diplomacy in all of this?

This administration's ability to affect foreign policy is pretty much nonexistent. Seems to me that all they do is blow hot air. So much so that my anus is feeling wind burnt.

That may be true, but I would like to think that if it ever came to civil war in America that we wouldn't have foreign fighters here making things worse.

Does it really matter?

How are they going to clear out chemical weapon stockpiles, while there's a bloody and costly civil war raging around the country.

There will never be a point the US agrees the agreement has been fulfilled.

The rebels have a stockpile that will never be accounted.

Assad could simply keep a hidden stock pile

its the best load of crap ever. The US thinks it dodged a bullet here, but Israel will force the US to shoot one way or another.
