Yellowstone Just Lit Up Again With a New Swarm- happening now

Wow, now I am tracking another swarm- yes, another one- that has started near YPP. The events are real small, but they are repetitive, and appear to be persistent. They best show up at YPP.HHZ, although the shortband YPP.EHZ is showing some of them too. UoU has not started even posting these yet for today, 9-26. I have seen roughly 20 to 30 micro events so far at the time of this post.

By themselves, these events are so small I wouldn't normally even post them. But in the context of the other multiple swarms, they have meaning. This is too many swarms, in too many places.

Another one? How many of these swarms happened lately?

I somehow have the feeling that things, either good or bad, usually come in 3s. Until now there's the 7.7 Pakistan eq and the 7.0 Peru one (few casualties I've read). What's the 3rd one going to be? Thinking of you guys, I hope not Yellowstone. But I have read some of TA's threads here on ATS and if he says he's concerned about these swarms you'd better take note.

That is quite normal, you will see that every day at YMR, a lot of human activity there.

why the hell would YVO place an seismo meter on an spot that is mostly disturbed by background tremors.....like YMR....

Now ANOTHER swarm happening at Hebgen Lake. WTF. I don't see how anyone can call this normal anymore. Not even Grumpy.

Same area as the 7.7 one, and probably deaths wil be in the hundreds again. Sad!

On-topic now: TrueAmerican, what is the worst scenario you thought of regarding these swarms? The "big one" coming?

with the understanding that it is a supervolcano, Why should we be concerned with these
small quakes,.stuff does move right? and maybe it is a good thing it does keep moving.
nothing else seems to be that abnormal in the park,. as far as new hot spots,. geysers ...

Hi Ressiv! Is there something going on here that makes you suspect HT? I can't tell enough by just this seismo. I'll try and pull up GEE...but it hasn't been working well for me lately.

So it seems as the activity in Yellowstone is picking up again?? 2.8 is the biggest so far today I believe.

I had a close friend of mine who did some scientific work for the defense department, tell me and some other close friends of his that a Colonel had shared with him that two things were on the horizon that the government knew about and was preparing for. The first was of an huge economic downturn (this was many years ago, before this great recession was even a thought!) the second was that Yellowstone was expected to release within the next ten years.

Here is a link that shows the enormous amount of magma under the park, the plume stretching 410 miles deep:
