What if Bush was right all along?

I decided to put together a timeline of key

events in American history in chronological

order from 9/11/01 to the civil war situation

in Syria.
This shows a much bigger picture when put

into perspective . I feel like now in the

"age of information" were bombarded with so

much information we get caught up in smaller

details. If we stop and examine the events

that lead us to where we are today I think

there is very high possibility that the WMD

that Bush "lied" about made their way into

Syria.
If this turns out to be true, this would huge

in redeeming the former president.

Solidifying his legacy not just as an

effective president but catapulting into one

of the great American presidents. Besides a

couple of key articles, most all of this is

from Wiki I just arranged the events in the

order that they occured.

911
September 2001

Four passenger airliners were hijacked by

19 al-Qaeda terrorists so they could be flown

into buildings in suicide attacks. Two of

those planes, American Airlines Flight 11 and

United Airlines Flight 175, were crashed into

the North and South towers, respectively, of

the World Trade Center complex in New York

City.

In total, almost 3,000 people died in the

attacks, including the 227 civilians and 19

hijackers aboard the four planes. It also was

the deadliest incident for firefighters in

the history of the United States.

President Bush: I can hear you! I can hear

you! The rest of the world hears you, and the

people who knocked these buildings down will

hear all of us soon!

Wiki

Afghanistan
October 2001

Following the terrorist attacks of

September 11, 2001, to dismantle the al-Qaeda

terrorist organization and to remove from

power the Taliban government, which at the

time controlled 90% of Afghanistan and hosted

al-Qaeda leadership. U.S. President George W.

Bush demanded that the Taliban hand over

Osama bin Laden and expell the al-Qaeda

network which was supporting the Taliban in

its war with the Afghan Northern Alliance.

The Taliban recommended that bin Laden leave

the country[citation needed] but declined to

extradite him without evidence of his

involvement in the 9/11 attacks.

Osama bin Laden, initially denied any

involvement, in 2004, he claimed

responsibility for the attacks

Iraq
October 2002

In October 2002, a few days before the

U.S. Senate voted on the Joint Resolution to

Authorize the Use of United States Armed

Forces Against Iraq, about 75 senators were

told in closed session that Iraq had the

means of attacking the Eastern Seaboard of

the U.S. with biological or chemical weapons

delivered by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs.)

On 5 February 2003, Colin Powell presented

further evidence in his Iraqi WMD program

presentation to the UN Security Council that

UAVs were ready to be launched against the

United States. At the time, there was a

vigorous dispute within the U.S. military and

intelligence communities as to whether CIA

conclusions about Iraqi UAVs were accurate

and other intelligence agencies suggested

that Iraq did not possess any offensive UAV

capability, saying the few they had were

designed for surveillance and intended for

reconnaissance.The Senate voted to approve

the Joint Resolution with the support of

large bipartisan majorities on 11 October

2002, providing the Bush administration with

a legal basis for the U.S. invasion under

U.S. law.

March 2003

On 16 March 2003, the U.S. government

advised the U.N. inspectors to leave their

unfinished work and exit from Iraq. On 20

March the American-led coalition conducted a

surprise military invasion of Iraq without

declaring war.The invasion led to an

occupation and the eventual capture of

President Hussein, who was later tried in an

Iraqi court of law and executed by the new

Iraqi government.

Wiki

April 2003

“Of course Syria has no chemical

weapons. They (Americans) have been talking

for years about weapons of mass destruction

in Iraq. But so far, the presence of these

weapons has not been confirmed,” said

ministry spokeswoman Bouthayna Shaaban.

“I would like to say that there are

biological, chemical and nuclear weapons of

mass destruction in the Middle East region.

They are in Israel, not in Syria,” she said.

President Bush warned Syria on Sunday not to

harbour Iraqi leaders and charged that

Damascus has chemical weapons.

“We expect cooperation, and I’m hopeful we’ll

receive cooperation,” he said. Bush stopped

short of threatening Syria with military

action but added: “People have got to know

that we are serious about stopping the spread

of weapons of mass destruction.”

Source

January 2006

former Iraqi general, Georges Sada

publicly declared that Saddam’s military

transferred large stockpiles of chemical

weapons to Syria using civilian aircraft with

the passenger seats removed. “There are

weapons of mass destruction gone out from

Iraq to Syria, and they must be found and

returned to safe hands,’ Mr. Sada said. ‘I am

confident they were taken over.’”

Syria
March 2011

Demonstrations part of the wider Middle

Eastern protest movement known as the Arab

Spring. Protesters demanded the resignation

of President Bashar al-Assad, whose family

has held the presidency in Syria since 1971,

as well as the end of Ba'ath Party rule,

which began in 1963.

April 2011

the Syrian Army was deployed to quell the

uprising, and soldiers fired on demonstrators

across the country.

July 2011

a group of defected officers announced

the formation of the Free Syrian Army (FSA),

an umbrella group which would later represent

the main opposition army. Composed of

defected Syrian Armed Forces personnel and

civilian volunteers, the rebel army seeks to

remove Bashar al-Assad and his government

from power.

January 2012

Assad began using large-scale artillery

operations against the insurgency, which led

to the destruction of many civilian homes due

to indiscriminate shelling.

June 2012

President Assad vowed to crush the anti-

government uprising, after the FSA announced

that it was resuming "defensive operations".

August 2012

the United States warned that the use of

such weapons was a "red line" for the

Ba'athist government, and would result in

"enormous consequences" if crossed.[284]

Similarly, France and the United Kingdom have

warned of severe consequences for the use of

chemical weapons, with France in particular

promising a "massive and blistering"

response.

June 2013

the death toll surpassed 100,000

according to the United Nations

August 2013

a chemical attack took place in the in

the Ghouta region, Damascus countryside,

ledding to thousand of casualties and several

hundred dead in opposition held stronghold.

The attack was followed by military offensive

by government forces, into the area, which

have been hotbeds of opposition since the

start of the uprising.

April 2013

The Times reported that British military

scientists have found forensic evidence of

chemical weapons being used in the conflict,

after examining a soil sample smuggled out of

Syria.
By 25 April the US intelligence assessment

was that the Assad government had likely used

chemical weapons – specifically sarin gas.

The Syrian government initially prevented

United Nations investigators from reaching

the sites of the attacks, despite their

accommodations being only a few kilometers

away.

Wiki

September 2013

Nearly buried in the diplomatic din over

Syria, the country’s foreign minister

acknowledged for the first time on

Tuesday that the Syrian government possessed

chemical arms, something it had never

admitted before, and declared that the

country aimed to become a signatory to the

international convention banning the weapons.

“We are ready to reveal the locations of the

chemical weapon sites and to stop producing

chemical weapons and make these sites

available for inspection by representatives

of Russia, other countries and the United

Nations,” Mr. Moallem said in a statement,

which he read on Al Mayadeen, a Lebanese

television station that leans in favor of the

Syrian government.

This is my first thread and I only had so

much time. Much of which was learining how to

make it presentable.
I'm sure I missed many things and there is

much more information out there! Feel free to

comment add to any info. Or let me have it

for these next statements.

Thank you President George W. Bush for

standing up and saying NO ITS NO OK TO

HIGHJACK AIRPLANES AND CRASH THEM INTO OUR

BUILDINGS AND KILL OUR AMERICAN PEOPLE.

Thank you for saving MILLIONS of lives in

Africa with PEPFAR the largest health

initiative ever initiated by one country to

address a disease.

Thank you for bringing to justice a mass

murder dictator who killed hundreds of

thousands of his own people that had every

intention of developing nuclear weapons,

thank you for liberating 50 million people in

Iraq. Thank you on behalf of the world for

ending a madman saving god knows how many!

When a humanitarian like Bush makes it his

mission to protect American citizens lives,

and make the world a safer place for

everyone. Its a sad world when so many

slander accuse and blame you for their own

short comings, instead of thanking you for

being a true leader and for your many many

contributions to the world!

I tend to think both Bush and Obama are wrong.. that it's reactionary..

after 9/11 I was watching Jon Stewart's and Letterman's first shows, they both seemed to be advocating war.. questioning our lack of intelligence and demanding we do more.. Jon didn't so much do that, but Letterman did .. flash forward, they both are anti-everything they said.. but they at least admit it was an emotional reaction

We suffer from reacting from the hip .. kneejerk reactions without thinking things through.. the fact is most of the nation supported swift and extreme action after 9/11 and were intolerant of delays.. many wanted INSTANT reaction.. but now we're war weary ... we're thinking more clearly... revenge has been flushe from our systems..

Obama isn't Bush. In 20 yrs or even if its 50 yrs if Iraq is a prosperous nation. It will be because Bush didn't sit around he did what the whole world wanted but didn't have the resources or high moral fiber to do when he freed a nation from a tyrant. That's what the History books will remember. This is what I meant when I said we tend to focus on the details of right now and not the bigger picture.

Not sure what drug revenue you could be talking about? I don't know anything about the uranium shells but I dont see how that them causing birth defects would have anything to do with aids medicine.

I'm not so sure any of those figures have been alive for thousands of years. They are all old.

Bush could be one of the greats? Please... at best 9/11 occurred because of his incompetence, his administrations incompetence, & all of Washington's (alphabet agencies & miltary included) incompetence. That's the best case scenario which doesn't propel anyone to any kind of exalted status, ever.

Bush can and will go to Hell.

Btw, are you really thanking Bush for liberating the Iraqi people? Perhaps you should Wikipedia Iraq presently. I'm going to assume no Iraqi is thanking Bush for anything, the terrorists on the other hand probably are.

I don't know what you mean it occurred because of his incompetence can you elaborate?
He did however say this won't happen again. Guess what it didnt! How many terrorist attacks since??? None.
After he declared war on not just terrorists but any nation harboring them. They just started handing the over 5,000 and counting!

I agree drugs are big business and were the #1 arms manufacturer in the world. However N. Korea are the one growing and selling opium.

No he was not right. I remember clearly in the summer of 2001 reporters referencing the administrations desires to go to war with Iraq in the summer of 2002. This was well known if not widely talked about. When 9-11 happened it just broadened the opportunity to go into a war the public would not otherwise have supported. Of course Hussein was not going to provide any kind of proof that his chemical weapons were removed or destroyed following the first Gulf War. The fear of the Iraqi people that he still had them would be enough for him to hold onto power.

The war itself was handled poorly and completely ignored any conventional tactical wisdom in the hurry to get to Baghdad. We paid a huge price for this ineptitude in lives and dollars. All in a war we shouldn't have fought to begin with. Hussein may have been a brutal dictator and probably should have been removed from office. But really no one seemed to mind until he decided to not play ball with the US government.

Not even going to address your intellectual dishonesty in the first part. Every two bit dictator wants nuclear weapons, so what? As to the whole Syria getting chemical weapons from Iraq. IT is a fairy tale made up by Bush apologists who want so much for him to have been right. It would make zero sense to just give your most potent weapons to a neighboring country on the eve of a war you know you have no chance of winning. Hussein did not use them because he did not have them to use period. Whatever stockpiles Syria has most likely come from two places Russia and China, both of which have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo in Syria.

Your right Assad could have a huge stockpile of chem weapons just like we've been saying all along and some of them could be come from China or Russia.

But how do you ignore the fact just so you can say Bush wasn't right that Saddam had and used chemical weapons and they just disappeared? People claimed and speculated they went to Syria here we are years later with Syria who had denied having them and now they have been used and they admit NOW they have them.

The evidence speaks for itself! When this unravels and Bush is vindicated. I don't expect anyone of the Slanderous Bush haters to have any type of moral character to write him and apologize. I just hope they take the time to think about all the lives lost and try to use better critical thinking.
