I agree, these are not the nicest looking emoticons. And I really enjoy emoticons. My favorites are the ones on skype, with the rolly, wiggly eyebrows. I also like other forums with shill emoticons, and think people have the rigth to be honest and not have to pretend they're toddlers who don't suspect someone who is ruining threads works for the evil darth vader crew, when they're yelling at home. There should be 10 different shill ones, and I would like to pick them myself.

Or really grown up thing would be sites with many ones, and individual users could upload the ones they liked best.

Thats how I would do it. I notice a few more ones today, but they're ugly, reptilian green, and there is still is no Love or Hearts and Flowers.......

I like every new change about the site ( the design, the dark color scheme, the new, more modern look and feel to it,etc. except the smileys.

They come across as lifeless, bland, unimaginative.
--although with one eye closed and a LOT of imagination this one kind of looks like chicken little.

I wish we could have normal smileys like the other websites.
, I mean

Oh, well life would be boring if everything was too easy.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I LOVE "The Scream" and this just cracked me up! OMG Beezer you're too much!

OP I like the goofy looking smiley and that is it. I did like the other ones more but I am not all that into smiley's so it doesn't bother me either way.

I miss the rolling eyes the most. I got a lot of use out of those.

Its a conspiracy by ATS owners to remove emoticons by making them ugly and confusing to stem the number of people using them and reducing use to near zero.

I cant say I'm unhappy with less of them on posts.

Yeah the smilies are ugly, but so what? That just means we need to use more words and rely less on smilies. For what it's worth, I have no technical issues with the site and I think the dark theme looks great. The light is hard to read. And this responsive version of ATS looks FANTASTIC on mobile devices, both tablet and phones of various sizes. I'm extremely happy with the change.

Disclaimer: This is not a rant, more of a simple inquiry

Why can't we get a thumbs up and down round here? And the puzzle guy looks mad not puzzled.

These are the only wrinkles in an otherwise fine design. Thanks

Let's just lose the emoticons entirely. Look, ATS is supposed to be a mature, professional site. We don't allow text shorthand or posting in l33t, so why do we keep something as lame as emoticons?
