I really enjoyed the paintings! The drawings were not to my taste but sounds like they would fit that genre perfectly. It wasn't until latter in life that appreciate Frank Frazetta or Boris. I have been meaning to do some takes myself on Frank's work.

Yeah, the subject matter of the drawings always makes people go WTF is in your head?!
I used to always get asked why I can't draw anything nice, but that is just what comes out.

Every once and a while my daughter will talk me into drawing something a lot "nicer" though so that she can color them.

OMG how could I forget to mention "the watchmen"?!!? One of my favorite graphic novels.
That and "Pride of Baghdad" is really, really good. The ending almost made me cry.

Grown up things now...? Like troll forums? lol oki kid.

My post was not means of trolling. It was more-so of an attempt to say, "I don't think grown ups should be reading comic books".

I know that feeling! The Invisibles blew my mind the way the Matrix did!

Absolutely, one of the most insane, original, thought provoking comics ever produced.
Anyone on ATS and who reads, should definitely read that comic.

The only comic I read now is "Dilbert". When I was a kid my dad used to get these little paperback comic books by Ripley's "Believe It or Not" that were filled with interesting facts about everything under the sun.

I wish I had my dad back and I wish they still published those comic books. They were a great way to learn about the world.

I remember those Ripley's "Believe It or Not" but probably as reprints? I am sorry about your Father, I wish I had one that liked comics and read them with me. I try to do that now with my kid!

I found some CD's in a local bookstore with PDF versions of Marvel X-Men and Avengers (99-06 titles) They were in the dollar bin so I snatched them up. Couple of GB's worth actually.

Gave all my silver age comics (about 1000) to my grandson a few years ago as he was the only one who didn't want to sell my plastic wrapped Iron Man #1. Smart kid, glad someone appreciated them for what they were.

Thanks for that.

The books were published in the 70's. I'm in my 50's.
