Not bad for a phone cam

I had an LG that had a 5meg pxl camera. It took FOUR seconds from the moment I pressed the button to when it actually snapped the picture!! It seems they must have fixed that problem.

I didn't know what it was at first either, but our weather guy posted on facebook that the bright light everyone was asking him about was Venus then I knew what it was! It is pretty cool. I would have never known if he didn't say that.

There's a smartphone app called Google SkyMap that makes it easier to determine what it is too.

It doesn't take mine that long, but if I zoom in on any image, it gets grainy like the picture above. If I could figure out my cannon I would have it made.

My next purchase is a telescope. I am asking Santa for one this year!!

I was lucky to find Candy Crush on my phone.
But I will definitely check it out. Thanks for the info!!

Apparently our local news station was inundated with questions about a possible UFO. The first thing I thought when I saw it was I should post this on ATS in the UFO forum...
and ask what it was....but then I decided to be nice.

We really need a HALO emoticon.

Me too

I'd really like one that could be controlled from my PC so I could be an armchair sky watcher

I hope old Santy is listening!

HAHAH! ITS HERE!!

I am still waiting for someone who is not joking to come along...any minute now.

I posted it here to avoid drama. I dislike drama. I like Venus though! It was much cooler in person. I've seen Mars before but it was not nearly as cool as Venus!

PC controlled telescope??? OH MY GOWSH. I have considered making my own telescope, you know, to see if I can and if it would work. Apparently it really isnt hard to do. And you can make a bigger one for a lot less than you can buy a small one. I just need to draw it all up. I have an engineering design degree I have never used, so I guess I could put my student loans to work!! It would also kill all of my empty time since my baby girl left for college last month. I miss her so much it hurts. I try to stay busy. Which explains why I am outside taking pics of Venus.

Old Santy bless his heart would try, but, he would go to a hobby shop and buy a $29 telescope that wouldnt see to the end of my block. I will give him specific instructions!!! I am such a diva sometimes.

In the middle of my front yard (Notice the power lines) I was trying to get them out of the pic but couldn't.

Why does it show a reflection of earth? I cant see that on my pic. All I can see in my pic is the moon and the little glowy thing (VENUS) but I dont see earth like in the pic you posted.

Did you enlarge this or what?

People are quite excited about the Venus-Moon conjunction around these parts, enough so to take pro pics of it:

That is amazing!!!!!

The moon here is not on its back though it is shaped like a backwards C. That tells me it was taken from far away from where I am. I was trying to pinpoint it but my brain cant think. Brazil! HA its in your profile! LOL
