I'm just curious as to how us Aussies on ATS voted in the recent election.

I voted for Clive Palmers: Palmer United Party.

Who did you all vote for?

Informal

Those little blank squares on the ballot paper gave me an opportunity to practice my derp caricatures... I hope the polling officials doing the counting enjoyed the humour.

I voted for the "No Carbon Tax Party", there was a few parties I never heard of before, like the "Pirate Party"

It was not a matter of who to vote for, it was just ... most were bad. The hard part, seriously, was choosing who to put last! It was a hard decision. The pirate party was quite high in the end.

They got votes! The pirate party!

Should be an interesting few years. The Senate will be struggling to pass wind let alone legislation!

What this guy said. Would rather cop a fine than be forced to vote for someone I don't want running the country. I'm happy to be proven wrong but I have a feeling Australia is going to go backwards over the next 3years.

I voted for Sammy, my local Socialist Alliance candidate. I chose Sammy over the other candidates because he was the only one I had organised a protest with.

Melissa Parke--if you're listening, I want a Fremantle Slut-walk before I will vote for you!!

I'd rather keep it illegal--once they start taxing it (at tobacco rates) it will be like 1200 bucks an oz!

How I voted is no-one's business but mine

So much negativity about the new government though when they'd be hard-put to do it any worse than the last 'leaders'. And we also got a senate that can hold them to account and stop any 'cowboy' proposals getting through which is a good outcome for the nation IMHO.

Give them a chance to make improvements, they know we're watching very closely.

Ok , here is a story, my husband went down town the day before the election . The people trying to get your vote where lined up and my husband went to go past the first one ( Liberal ) who tried to get his vote and he said " no you can't help me " . Past the next one (Labour) said " no you can't help me " and then on getting to the last option ,who thought they must be the winner of his vote , promptly announced to the listening 4 " I am a communist none can help me ". lol
Next day he goes down town again , same people in a line , again they try to get his vote.
This time he announces " no thanks I am an anarchist "

As much as I hate KRudd I hate Abbott more. Anyway you vote for the party and not for the figurehead and considering how the world economy is Labour has done a reasonable job. If the Libs were in power in the last 6 years we'd have a lot more money in the treasury but there would be a higher amount of unemployment.
What good is money in the kitty if people are homeless and starving.
The Fiscal stimulus has helped keep jobs, never been sure on the carbon tax.
Lets see how Little Johnnies apprentice goes over the next three years, what I am amazed at is how many are complaining that Abbotts Libs got into power when they themselves voted informal, donkey or for the Libs themselves.

I dont mind Freo, I rate them highly but how good was the Bluebaggers second half. Commiserations to all Tigers supporters, they chose the wrong years to finish 9th. Hot Pies! Not

I voted labor, thought I'd throw my vote to the best chance to avoid Abbott. I wanted to vote for the 'end the prohibition of... party' but we all know that'll never happen.

I feel for the Tigers, first finals in.. 12yrs? and they are knocked out by a 12th placed Carlton.

Carlton will get done by the Swans, then the Swans will get done by Freo.

I hope we get the flag... its our best chance yet!

Last time the swans and freo played it was a draw , true that freo has momentum atm but I think the swannies will do freo this time , they are masters at flying under the radar.
Btw Im a big swannies fan and now that Collingwood is out of the picture there really isn't any other team they have bad luck against constantly
