Interesting that so many people are caught up in the anti-west propaganda, to the point of supporting murderous dictators who shoot protesters.

Both sides are as bad as each other . Bombing the Regime is not going to solve anything. Infact I think things will spiral out of control and there will be a wider conflict.
The UN needs to help to solve these problems. Those responsible for the war crimes that have taken place need to be caught and put on trial. A national vote in Syria needs to take place and the democratic procedure followed.
The extremists on both sides need to be overthrown by the people themselves. This is not Americas job or place to do this.

These are nazi chemicals being used on the population.

You might guess that people should be surprised when reading this. I am not. It's old news when we learn that we're being attacked by foreign governments, with whom of which we supplied them with the very weapons we supplied them with, typically in the time span of twenty years previously, at a time when we may have called them ally. In the whole world, Syria is your greatest concern? Granted, it's forefront in the media but is it really the absolute greatest concern?

Possibly the Al Qaeda rebels that will take over if the regime is disbanded. That would be a concern.

Is Al Qaeda a lesser evil than what they have now? Or would you go in, kill the majority of the county, put little uniforms on them and shove Christianity down their throats?

What is your great answer?

I'm not getting how selling ingredients to a company that you outsource to and buy product back from is a scandal.

I think bombing a bunch of innocent people because you're bored and want something to watch on tv isn't a good plan.

Everything you touch, see, eat or smell could be chemically altered to be an ingredient for something nefarious.

Fluoride is bad anyway, since you bring it up. It causes kidney stones.

But the UK, USA and many of the WESTERN countries flouridate the water supply, thus effectively using a chemical weapon on their civilian populations, and to add to that, the water is treated with chlorine(chlorine gas anyone?).

So thats two substances used in chemical warfare being added to water.

It is painting the picture that Assad was responsible and the chemical were supplied by UK.
However Assad already possessed the chemical weapons. As I stated above . what if the chemicals were for the rebels and what the DM has done is unwittingly uncovered the source of some of the chemicals used to make sarin.

The rebels do have sarin and have been caught with it in Turkey before. Where did they get it?....

They wouldnt need to go to the trouble of trying to get the chemicals from Assad if the CIA just straight up supplied it to them...

I wonder if we will have a repeat of the companies that sold stuff to Iraq or Iran where the Directors were prosecuted for breaking the so-called law yet the Government had OK'd the deals. One should I think always remember the duplicity of Government.

In fairness though this product makes toothpaste etc so you can't prove any of this and I except there is a degree of sensationalism to get further sales by the press.

Sadly today there is more disinformation about than truth or any effort to find out the truth.

1 bit I found strange was

Last week it was revealed that the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) had granted export licences in 2012 – but they were not used to send sodium fluoride to Syria.

Why grant licences and not send the goods... Something does not add up....

Kind of stupid, like saying someone is responsible for selling metal which was used to form a blade of a knife that killed someone. Selling chemicals (which have many uses) that could be used in the manufacture of chemical weapons is not the same as selling chemical weapons (which only have one purpose).
