I'm guessing it's a matter of painstakingly crafting each of the hundreds of individual buildings, which is WORK, and time. Not feasible, i'm assuming.
The new version of X-Plane was supposed to fix that, the problem of inappropriate buildings in the random object generator. There is more diversity but it doesn't look right if you are trying to represent something well know like Manhattan. That's what I was doing today, making an assessment, and deciding I have to rip it all out, not literally of course, but take out all the roads and buildings and make my own, and put them in there in an appropriate way. The new version is better in that the actual ground underneath is where it should be, where in the old version there were big lumps in places that were really caused by buildings and trees. For example, the Javits convention center ended up being a big mound, so when I put the building in, I had to build it around the mound, with parts sticking out here and there. Ellis Island had a big mound from the big reception hall, so to put the actual hall in, I had to run a flattening command to flatten the whole Island. The point is, I'm stuck with what I expected, good ground to build on with the new version, but still worthless buildings and roads.
I think you have the right idea, though, to make a bunch of buildings to make a sort of city and then improve on them until it gets better. I usually get stuck in making perfect buildings and don't get very many actually done. The Chrysler building is a good example because it is so weird to start with that it is hard to make. Anyway, lots of time and work, but I took a whole year off while waiting for the new version to get properly debugged before I messed with it.

When we are saved, we automatically do not become perfect. On the contrary, the further we progress into our walk with the Lord, the more we become aware of just how imperfect we really are. We understand more fully that we are definitely in need of our Savior.

At the same time, we must strive to come as close as we possibly can to reflecting the image of Jesus Christ to the fullest. To play violent videos or watch violent movies pollutes our minds. Though we do not intend for them to have any negative effects on us, they will slowly, but surely, give Satan a foothold. We can have the most sincere intentions, but just associating with something like that will slowly lead us away from the straight and narrow path, more than likely without our realizing it.

Satan's method of ensnaring his victims is almost always progressed gradually, over a period of time. To put that into perspective, think of it like the way the mainstream media, the powers that be, etc., condition the population in order to bring their plans to fruition. They do it so gradually, that by the time things are ready to go down, the "sheeple" are so desensitized, that they do not notice they are already well within the "trap".

Nobody is perfect, and nobody should claim to be, unless their name is the Lord (Isaiah 42:8). But, when we are saved, we should make every effort to stay away from things which will distract our minds from God and His Word. We must worship God in spirit, and when we put fleshly lusts first, being humans, that will cause us to lose sight of what we need to focus on.

Here is a link to a nice little web page with some writings from Ellen G. White (before the SDA Church became part of Babylon) about how we should work toward becoming like Jesus in spirit and in character:

The first two things i did towards progressing towards God is read Messages to young people, and Steps to Christ by Ellen G. White.

Messages to young people was given to me by a devout christian friend when i didn't believe. I didn't want to toss it out, but i stuffed it in a corner in my garage so i don't have to ever see it. The first night i actually committed myself to God in a prayer, the next morning i wake to see the book sitting next to me on my wheelchair, bathed in sunlight, after my mother brings it up from the basement. She said she brought it up because overheard me complaining about all of my books getting destroyed from hurricane sandy to a friend, but knowing how my mother remembers nothing, i think God maybe planted it in her mind.

Steps to Christ was given to me by some SDA canvassers from a church up my block. Iv'e heard from several people that Ellen G. was a fake prophet. I don't know the truth to this though. The two book i have read really did help me get into the correct mind frame of a devout christian. Granted, some of the things she says really do scare me. Things like photographs of family or friends being a sign of evil and idolatry, picnics being a worldly activity that should be avoided, paintings of things being an offense to God's creation, and people laughing and joking are distracting themselves from true mindfulness and reverence to God.

I know many church institutions have been corrupted; how has the seventh day Adventist been corrupted too?

Hoe long does it take you to finish all of this? I'm guessing because usually whole teams are the ones who work on these things, you alone it would be to handle.

Maybe you can make a random generator program yourself?

Maybe you can make a random generator program yourself?
The X-Plane 10 simulation has a "random generator program" built into it. The one in version 9 was really awful but the one in v. 10 is tied to a data reference of actual roads, so at least the buildings that are generated are oriented correctly, so ones that are "close enough" I can leave, and replace things like farm houses on Wall Street.
A lot of users would be happy if you just had any kind of buildings in place as long as they were lit up with windows in them, for night flying, in and out of LaGuardia airport.

So your going to model all of New York? Or just some parts? That will be pretty damn cool. I really want to see this...

Someone should definitely pay you, or you can enlist in some kind digital modeling competition, if they have something like that.

But once again, that's what irks me the most in cityscape's in games, the flat blurriness. If you can model New York, or any city, with actual detailed (within time and reason) streets and buildings, that will be amazing.

Or just some parts?
I have a habit of getting bogged down in crazy detail, like this thing here in this video, which was a lot more difficult to make than it is possible to describe.
which is the driving range at Chelsea Piers, on the Hudson River.
It's kind of an important thing to see if you are flying up the river in a general aviation airplane.
You can see in the background my Empire State Building which is still the best free model of it out there.
That's an old video I make that specifically to highlight the cage. There would be more buildings in there if it was up to date. This is older version and you can see how awful the default scenery is in this video. No streets, and buildings all just randomly placed.
To be on topic a bit, I do sometimes find it difficult to justify the time spent working on this sort of thing but I manage to do it often enough to get some work done.
I originally was doing this to get a grip on what happened on 9/11/01, making my own videos of what these planes would have had to have done if what the media tells us is true. But this is way off topic for this subforum and I have tons of older posts on the 911 subforum concerning the thousands of hours of research I have done on that subject.

I won't lie, iv'e done a pretty broad, non- detailed research of 9/11.

Logic tells me that it was a planned explosion.

Witnesses dropping dead.

FBI confiscating footage.

Government planes hovering around nearby.

News fabricating occurrences.

No wreckage or bodies at the pentagon.

Plenty of people saying they saw a streak in the sky and not a plane.

That's all the research one needs to delve into.

Well, I saw the plane, the one that hit the south (second) tower, and so why I devoted so much time into this problem of 9/11.
I actually saw it very up close and through a magnifying device to where I could see that no one was in the cockpit to fly it, and no one was visible through the passenger windows, so it was instantly obvious to me that it was flown remote controlled. www.abovetopsecret.com...
But that is not exactly on topic other than I do have a way that conveniently allows me to rationalize the time spent on "video games'.

I just spent 4 1/2 days updating my Statue of Liberty model to take advantage of the lighting effects of the new version of the "game". The count is up to 320 downloads right now, since I put the file up on the x-plane forum yesterday, so there is the other 'rationalization' (sharing).
Liberty ties in with 9/11 since the second plane flew 'around' the island to line up with the tower as it came from earlier flying 'around' Philadelphia.

I have come to see video games as a waste of my time. I am raising a family and trying to build a business. I know that your circumstances are different than mine but you can always improve your life- by reaching out to good people, eating good food, and contemplating good things.

Personally, I have wasted my own time on video games. I have also felt the gradual and gripping tug of evil through playing video games, watching cartoon network, watching pornography, and drug use. These things are distractions and are self serving. If you want a more fulfilled spiritual life, I suggest developing a well adjusted, and healthy disdain for all of these questionable pastimes.
I still play an occasional game, watch sci-fi movies, have a smoke and a beer, and glance at pretty women. But my perspective is changing, and I want it to. The road is narrow. And as you walk it, it continues to narrow.

I think that games like these serve no good. Playing them might not cause anyone to go out and kill, but ask yourself what ingredient is this game for your mind.

For what you r doing in your life, videogames are definitely a useless time sink. A family and a business warrants all of your time, and rightfully so.

And yes, cartoon network is pretty evil. Ever wathced an episode of Adventure Times nowadays? UGGH! Everything is demonic and grotesque in that cartoon since after season 2.

I have turned off the porn permanently, and it does call to me from time to time (i answered for a few days about 2 weeks ago). I really don't think or care about it that much anymore. Which means i am progressing.

I stopped the bud a while ago, and i don't miss or think about that at all either.

The only thing concerning vieogames is GTAV, and the new Metal Gear solid's. Despite all the illuminati symbols and demonic references in those games, i still want to play.

How does your conscience feel if you take on the role as a criminal? I don't think I would like to play a game of glorification of violence such as that. Do you glorify violence and criminal behavior?

Well, you indicated that you do prefer criminal behavior and that you do like it. So if your conscience is bothering you that much, then you probably should not play it.

Symbols are just symbols. What you think is Illuminati symbols can mean something different to other people. Metal Gear Solid is about a soldier of fortune, right? (I am a middle-aged woman, I don't play video games). But symbols only hold power over you if you believe in the message from the messenger.

Here is a symbol....
and here is a symbol
and here is another symbol I just saw today c(_)....pretty nifty, I recognized the third one as a coffee cup. But we are conditioned to accept those symbols.

This one...
could mean different things to whoever is viewing it. So don't think too much about Illuminati symbols, the creators of the game inserted those just to put you into a virtual world. That's all.

. . . a light streaking (missile) into the pentagon . . .
The G forces required to make that maneuver in a plane would have caused the pilot to black out.
The actual "statue" part I downloaded originally from SketchUp 3D Warehouse, but had to do about three days of work on to get it to where it is now (still working on the torch).
btw: downloads of that model are up to 439 from when I put it up 6 days ago.
I had to order a new video card (MSI Gaming N770 TF 4GD5/OC) because my current one (470) barely runs the simulation, and the one I'm getting comes with a password to Batman: Arkham Origins. So I am wondering if I should even use it. I realize some people will trade them for another one that someone else would get with their graphics card. Wikipedia says, "It is scheduled for release on October 25, 2013.", so I don't know what's up with their giving these codes (for Steam?) out.
Looks like a fighting game which I got sick of like three years ago. It is interesting that it has an "open world" environment which is somewhat like how a flight simulation works but on a larger scale.

If God is Love, then God is Acceptance. Love accepts and loves people for who they are, it does not manipulate and control.

The real question is, do you CHOOSE to be connected to love or not? Do you wish to focus on violence rather than love?

Do you want change in order to "please" God, or because you realize that you were created out of love (image of God) and your consciousness/spirit/soul (whichever word you choose to use) is love?

I would like to know, and since the OP brought it up...unless you are standing right next to a plane, you can't see the cockpit. So I am not buying "I had a magnifying device", man, that plane was going too fast for you to see who was inside it.

Second point to the OP and jmdewey...

Conspiracy theorists have been playing you with words. "Explosions were heard" Of course explosions were heard, that's what the big boom and fireball was...an explosion. And if you have ever been in a burning house or around a burning house, or a burning car, or your microwave burning your popcorn...those all make explosions.

But you fell for it.

Think about it for a minute....an office room on fire, that room contains computers that catch on fire, furniture that catches on fire and here's the biggie...wall paneling that catches on fire. Eventually...explosion, boom, fireball.

The restaurant had GAS cook stoves and ovens...guess what?? Explosion, boom, fireball.

So when you heard "explosions were heard" yes, of course there were, that's what happens in fires. So don't be played any more by the conspiracy theorists punning you.

Now, the Pentagon.....

"It was like a rocket or missile"...of course it was. A plane no longer flying toward its original intended goal and used to fly into a building, is now a missile. But you got played again by words. When you heard "missile" you immediately thought.."oh, it's like a Cruise Missile". So then the conspiracy theorists say "where's the wreckage of the plane?" I ask "where's the wreckage of the missile?" Do you get it?

Please understand how this works...if a semi-truck hauling gasoline ran smack into an apartment building and an explosion occurred, would the police let you stand around taking pictures of the wreckage? Nooo, they would cordon off the area to keep you away. Now think about it, the Pentagon. Would the FBI just let people stand around to get pieces of the wreckage? Of course not.

Now you say.."the hole wasn't big enough". Well, suppose this, the wings may have been drug inside along with the engines. "Impossible" you say. Oh, but this was not a Hollywood production, try ramming your car through a brick wall, oh, have you seen cars hitting the wall at Darlington or Rockingham? They have always flown apart. Strange, those walls are made of rubber, but same impact force.

Now let's put you in the scenario. You are on the 40th floor with your office facing south. The only view you have to the world is out your _ Now, something hits way above you, but from behind, and you didn't see what did it...what is your first thought? Of course you wouldn't automatically think about it being a plane, that just doesn't happen very often, does it? But you watched enough Hollywood movies and you know from them that bombs make big booms. So you are conditioned to believe it can only be a bomb.

That's how they get you...through your own conditioned brain. Then they play you with words. Forget the video evidence, forget the eyewitness evidence (BTW, there were literally thousands who witnessed it), forget everything and believe in your conditioned mind, that it can only be bombs. That's a really great movie, but 9/11 was not a movie. And you wouldn't even believe how much effort and time and people it is required to set up special effects explosions for a movie.

To set this up would take a whole lot of people to coordinate. And the timing, wow. There's no director in the world that can pull that off in the first try.

To do this, you would have to coordinate every video feed with the same synchronized time code. Impossible considering the videos came from cell phones, news helicopters and home video cameras. Geesh, it's like none of these conspiracy theorists ever worked on film crews..wait a minute, they didn't until after.

But it's much easier to believe a construction crew painted the walls with nano thermites in order to ensure ensuing explosion would happen. But of course, let's not mention the jet fuel slopping down the elevator shafts and stairwells. Those firemen, they were all in on the conspiracy too, right?

Now, let me ask you this...and it's another play on you, they say "In all those videos we could not see anyone in the windows", have you actually seen people in their seats as a jet is taxiing down the runway or landing? NOOOO, you do not see people until the plane is actually slowing down to park.

Have you ever been on a plane? You do realize, don't you, that the seat is actually just a little behind the _ Now imagine this, you are on the plane and you know it is going to crash..first thing to do? You bend forward. That's what they tell you to do.

Black helicopters? What color is a helicopter when the sun is between you and it? It appears black. News helicopters were out there. Did you forget? Wow, it's like you have never seen a helicopter in the sky when it is between you and the sun.

And the "mysterious" plane that supposedly "landed" in Cleveland...that one actually almost hit the air traffic control tower in Pittsburgh. It was evacuated. They saw it coming and 15 minutes they were out of there. Why would they do that? But the conspiracy theorists don't tell you that one. Nooo, they don't want you to know their "facts" are just plays on you.

So what you think in this conspiracy is that every air traffic control tower employee in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Boston and Newark are all a part of it. Now, how would you coordinate all of those people?

All of these airport employees are part of a conspiracy to set bombs off in the Twin Towers...really? Really?
