Every Country who can should give 500M to Fukushima

This is a disaster that needs to be addressed. Think of all the stupid things countries waste their cash on, and when we have a real "World Emergency" noone is doing a thing. Can't the leaders just get this done, and really flex some nWo muscle. Make me question the exsistance of one.

Their is no reason they (world leaders) can't get a couple of Bil (which is nothing today) together and fix the giant freaking radation leak going on. On the plus side, maybe we'll actually get to see zombies and mutants with superpowers in our lifetime

Do you suggest they stuff dollar bills into the cracks to fix this problem?

Money isn't the issue, there are just no good ideas on what to do. Additionally, Japan has say on anything that happens there. Other countries can't start invading Japan and mucking around with their nuclear reactors.

If you want to blame someone for inaction, blame Japan, more specifically the government and tepco.

Why should my tax go to fix their problem when they already have their own money? Their share prices are skyrocketing for some reason.

Their mess, they should pay.

I think countries should come together on things like this, money does not have to be given to anyone. The combined resources and knowledge of the world should be used to fix the problem. Those rods should have been moved long ago. I think that working together synergetically is best. When people keep blaming others and pointing out flaws, things just get worse. People have to understand that these things can happen everywhere. If money is given to the country, it may all be used up without solving the problem. What good is that. Paying people's salaries is not the solution, fixing the problem is the solution.

This is General Electric's problem, we should be suing GE(TEPCO) for this issue! Other countries should NOT have to "donate" to one of the top evil corporates in the world, come on, get real. GE needs to clean this up and pay everyone in the world for compensation for their poor health, future deaths, and destroying the planet that we live on. Donating money to the richest corporation in the world, what a joke!

So youre saying if we blanket the nuclear disaster area with enough $10's $20's and $50's we can block the radiation? Genius!

Um. No. Japan has the money. Japan can pay for it's own mistake.
If Japan needs quick cash, it can sell all it's holdings around the world.

A good example if one was needed that MONEY does NOT fix all things.
This problem is not lacking investment to sort it out, its lacking brains, the japanese and tepco have no clue what to do next,.... but if anyone should give money to anyone, its the Japanese who should be made to compensate all persons on this planet for the damage they have done, because its not just their country, its OUR PLANET they have damaged.....

All Japan needs is NUKED.. we need to DROP BOMBS on them!

I agree with the previous replies to this post.

In 2 years and a half....what did they do? Worsen the mess that was created by telling lies, keeping things hidden, the usual not wanting to `lose face`, so common in Japanese culture.

In addition, fully aware of the spread of radiation, they kept feeding the population with products from the Fukushima area. They even had campaigns last year, inciting the population to help the Fukushima area by eating products grown over there. Hello?

If only they had been more humble, instead of thinking that they are omnipotent and immune to radiation, HIV, all those things that normal humans suffer from, etc.... they would have asked for help on day 1.

They have enough money to finance the reparations needed....yes, as someone says, they lack brains...
And so do other countries who do nothing to address this problem.

After the Y E A R S of cover up FAIL... it is QUITE obvious that Japan needs some External Motivation..

Ban Ki Moon should have taken charge as this is his job. And had the Russian team, who I read was the best at this stuff, spearhead the cleanup.. This should have happened by March 14, 3 days post.

Since this did NOT happen we are ALL in great PERIL.. If we are all gonna be poisoned..

MAKE THEM PAY THE MOST! it is their fault. they have 3 days to allow outsider to fix this.. or.. We BOMB the F out of Japan
Plus, on other things I read. bombing it in a certain manner will be better than allowing it to continue at current pace. Something about burning a lot of it up before it hits the atmosphere?..

Japan refused a lot of the offered donations after the initial eq.
They don't need money ,just help fixing it all.

It's not a matter of simply cleaning up a mess. The cause of the mess is ongoing. Japan has asked for help.
Fukushima operator pleads for international help as radiation crisis deepens
Unfortunately, no one knows how to fix it. The situation appears to be out of everyone's control.

You may also want to consider what might happen if you set off several nukes on top of one of the most active fault lines on the planet.

Until the Month of June more than 1.500.000 Working Hours accumulated directly inside of Daiichi!
They needed to install Cables, Pipes, Hoses, Roads and 4 new Buildings,
Nr.1-4 is covered, the new Crane is ready,
Nr.3 is cleaned up and also ready,
ALPS is working fine and is big too and dont forget all the Tanks.

They won't let anyone else examine the whole situation because it would be found out that the whole event is a giant FRAUD! Japan government (Abe is under control of the Yakuza) has pledged half a billion dollars for building the ice dam, great work and tremendous profit for Yakuza controlled construction companies, but totally needless. It was the same in Chernobyl, the European union gave them hundreds of millions of Euros to cover up the reactor, but the corium was already cooled and solidified to a glass-like slag, insoluble and giving off no particles. Staying more than a few yards away from it, you would be perfectly safe. Of course the Russian construction mafia wasn't going to turn down big chunks of cash, even though the engineers said it was not neccessary.
If an International team of nuclear engineers was allowed in, they'd blow the whole scam wide open. Dump all that very low level waste in the ocean, amongst the 4.5 BILLION tons of Uranium in the oceans, what difference will it make? And that's one of the reasons the oil companies and their banker friends want to scare the pants off people about nuclear power, all the energy we will ever need could be filtered out of sea water, energy would be so cheap that the world economy should recover and prosper for ever, as energy is one of our biggest expenses.
And nobody talks about the nuclear power plants that were closer to the epicenter of the quake and that shut down properly and suffered no damage because they were built properly.

I personally feel the mess needs to be shot into the Sun or into the center of the Earth. Those are the only two places that can handle that horrible mess.
