A mysterious creature has appeared on the shores of a beach in Ghana’s Jomoro District.

The creature, deemed a mammal weighing between six and eight tons, is decomposing after washing ashore several days ago, locals told My Joy Online, a Ghanaian news agency.

The stench coming from the mammal is disturbing and makes it hard to breathe, locals said.

Isaac Bentum Williams, a businessman who was at the shore, said the creature could be an endangered species and said scientists and researchers should come and study it.

The head of the creature looks like a crocodile while its tail looks like a whale’s tail, he said.

Have no clue what that is. But obviously it is BIG, if it is weighing in the tons!

Its a Fukashima octipoid, and yes, they are rare, but they will get more common as the radiation does its work.

Sarcasm for those dumbed down by our fantastic education.

That flipper looks like a dead giveaway...

Remains of a young whale. I'd say probably a hump-back.

edit - Zarniwoop (who I am assured is on an intergalactic cruise in his office) beat me too it with a pretty definitive pic..

Is it me or does this thing look like it was actually just killed and skinned to make it appear more like a monster?
Some of those cuts on the flesh/skin line look pretty straight.

Even weirder, or perhaps more damning, is this article i found that references that and more..
Ghana Web

A whale has been washed ashore the beach at Kokrobite in the Ga South Municipality of Accra.

Residents say the whale was washed ashore Sunday night, making it the second sea mammal found in similar situation after mysterious sea creature was spotted along the Asanta Beach in the Jomoro District of the Western Region earlier that day.

Joy News Fred Smith reported that the "black and white" whale is as big as "ten human beings joined" in length and twice that number in breadth. A strong stench is also emanating from the decomposing sea creature, he reported.

It is unclear what may have caused the mammals to be washed ashore but residents, who are mostly fishermen, say that sends some "positive" signal to them this year.

They are going to build a shrine to the big one, had priests perform some kinda of cleansing ceremony at the site of its body and will be "storing the carcass" until the shrine can be built.

Odd right?
