Opinions? Hero Assad? I love how you twist things & fail to see the reality of it all.

Terrorists have been in Syria killing civilians, persecuting Christians, & growing in numbers throughout this civil war, a war they've used as an excuse to infest & overthrow Assad so they can take take control. Assads forces are doing well against said terrorist but once he goes the only people who can stop him is Assads broken forces & the FSA. So the civil war may end but the war will rage on. As I've said just look to Libya & Iraq to get a glimpse into Syria's future.

And that's just one side of this story because you seem to overlook Assads allies, namely Iran. Russia is a wild card & I honestly don't know how they'll react to US intervention but those are waters I wouldn't test.

Maybe you should join a branch of the armed forces since you're so hell bent on Assads, well dictators, fall?

And every day Assad is in power it gets worse. For the civilians there that is, I don't give a rats arse about dictators, especially dictators that shoot protesters.
You think having this civil war carry on for another five to ten years is the way to go.
You're entitled to your opinion, but there will come a time when the responsible countries of the world say "Enough"
Times ticking for the "hero" Assad.
Most likely his intestines will be wire guiding a cruise missile above Damascus in the weeks ahead, one can only hope.

By your logic the US should just simplify this whole thing and use it's last duckets to go after saudi arabia.

No, instead we tolerate terrorism coming directly from that country and make the rich in that country richer.

Exhaust yourselves on syria... why not, the world is already upside down.

It's still going to be entertaining to watch empires fall. It is already very entertaining.

I can't wait for the next idiotic episode.

May those who stand firm never give up their principles.

Well Russia will be pissed of course as they won't be able to make $$$ from weapons deals with the regime. -Probably the main reason they are against stabilizing the region and opting for the war to continue unmitigated.
(Yes Russia is in it for the money as well)
-Other than that Russia will do nothing.

Israel has already struck Assad a few times, Russia and Iran could be accused of balking as well.

Who can you trust these day's , not even the one's you have dinner with and call "A very Generous Man".
Best to just stab them in the back as soon as possible and collect the money later ehhh?

Secretary of State John Kerry is calling for the overthrow and murder of his friend, Syria's president Assad, claiming definitively that he used chemical weapons against his own people.

Mustn't have paid enough I'd say.
Nice one Kerry

John Kerry was a frequent visitor of Assad's over the last few years. Perhaps no one in U.S. politics knows him better than Kerry who was complimentary of Assad as short as 2 years ago when he referred to him as a "very generous man".

www.activistpost.com...

Now Kerry either lied the first time about his assessment of Assad or he's lying now. either way his judgement is poor.

Just a talking point , who's on your team.

The only entities willing to support their aggression on Syria is Saudi Arabia and Israel. So, how’s that for credibility? The only support Washington can muster is from a feudal, sword-wielding, head-chopping regime and a criminal pariah genocidal state. Coalition of the Willing? More like Coalition of the Killing.

maybe the east is simply crouching...waiting for the perfect moment to fulfill much of what their societies have been built upon... anti-western imperialism.

Oh but that is just way too unthinkable.

Hell, there's many in the US itself that want to see it happen.
Are you so certain that this sentiment over there has waned enough to give our government the license to do anything it wants? I would not be so certain.

Without that certainty, members of congress who only have what they are told to go on would have to be insane to not consider that this was a trap for ww, but then again, what do they care? Maybe they have safe places to go.

The biggest wasteful deficit is the consuming American public. Their biggest fault is that they haven't realized it and the facts have been shielded from them. How much more money can the rich make off of them when so much of the gold is now horded and market numbers regularly seem stuck? The huge economy is now more trouble than it is worth. The rich have what they need.... now the wheels are just spinning and the hungry mouths keep chattering while there are more grateful, more compliant people in the world who have never known the spoils of luxury and are easily entertained.

If you realize that this could include YOU.... and unfairly, since so much has been hypnotizing us.... then you'd have to be pretty gullible to fall into this global war plot and actually think it is about YOUR protection.

It isn't.

Assad already warned Israel not to strike again so you really want to push that envelope? Bottom line, if the US gets involved Assad will have no choice but to strike back & the logical choice is Israel. I'm sure Iran will love that.

You know what, I don't even want to think about the "what if's" anymore", I just hope the US stays out of this fight, although I know DC won't.

Ok you remove Assad from power then what?

The rebels are just as rotten.

Even if you find a "good" rebel faction to take power you think the others will lay down there arms and meekly go home?
yeah right! No! The factions that didnt get there own way will continue the fight and the civil war will continue with a even weakend new goverment that will likely fall too.

What probably makes this one more interesting is that the French seem much more up for military action than anyone else.

The French have always been, "much more up for military action," until they start getting their asses kicked...then they whine and beg for help from other countries...

The French should just shut up and keep making our porn...

There is also the Soviet-era Naval Port at Tartus, and although some Russians have been playing it down lately, I can't help but think they would like to hang onto it..

Libya would still be in the grip of civil war.
Was that a trick question? Or do you mean to say that things would be just ducky over there without the Nato intervention? Like, both sides holding hands and stuff?

Libya would still be in the grip of civil war.

It already is..

RPT-ANALYSIS-Libya protests threaten stability as oil output dives

* Autonomy demands drive protesters in oil rich eastern region

* Army intervention to capture oil fields risks wider conflict

And now words from an actual Libyan. Pro Rebel

Depends what forces intervene, but any armed action has great potential to worsen the situation even further.

Twitter.

Or do you mean to say that things would be just ducky over there without the Nato intervention?

Libya was just doing fine without NATO or the rebels.
