I've tracked aircraft on flightradar24 down to at least 1000ft before so I don't know .. Am I right in saying though if he was hijacked and on course for UK mainland it would land at stanstead airport. I could of sworn somewhere I read that stanstead is the hijack airport aircraft go to as it has a secluded area to hold the aircraft

7500 is the squawk for hijacking, and it means you want immediate military intervention. Squawking 0000 doesn't mean you want a military escort or intervention, squawk 0000 is usually used for drones/target aircraft.

The reason it went of the tracker might be because its on a lower altitude.
That's the reason they use sports planes for drug smuggling. It flies so low it doesn't appear on the RADAR. So it might be in descent.

Flight Radar tracks from take-off to landing so will be visible at 37k feet or 300 feet.

Seeing as the flight appeared to get from Canada to (or near) British airspace without any confirmed deviation of its course, I'd say that there is probably a problem with the planes transponder. Surely it would have been intercepted long ago.

Flight Aware still showing a "ghost" plane on the proper flight route. But seems to of stopped tracking the actual flight?
flightaware.com...

And here is the flight track log, flightaware.com...

A lot of missing data, possibly where the flight was doing the turn arounds.

Does anyone know how many passengers are on board, and member crew?

I think if something is wrong then we need to pray for those souls,to land safe on the ground.

The only problem is ,it is Monday and 9 days before 9/11 celebrations so you might be onto something although I will pray to be just a malfunction.

How would you know if it had been intercepted anyway? Fighters don't show up on flight aware. I think there would be a problem with the transponder and now if showing 0000 because it doesn't have a code for it. 0000 isn't a code for military intervention..

It's back on flightradar24. The current squawk is now 2000 (Aircraft from non SSR environment or on the aerodrome surface).

So all is well? But shouldn't it have landed by now?

Squawking 2000 means they were in a region where a transponder wasn't required.

Either way it should be escorted to a military airport, even if nothing has happened, for total safety, because we must not forget that there si red code alert for terrorist attacks all over Europe.

If I'm correct I checked 7021 ... All it says is UK Domestic

I use this website to look for squawk codes www.transmission1.co.uk...
Don't know how reliable it is though

7021 means it hasn't been allocated a squawk code.

Strange things, although I think I would have picked something up on RT or Reuters if it was anything serious.

Ah man I'm sucking at getting the squawk codes right feel like a noob! .. Wait I am. Either way this thread has landed me in hot water with the mrs .. I hadn't replied to her text message for 3 hours because I've been switching from ATS and flight radar 24. This is fun though !
