I'm assuming it was a meteor or meteorite that I saw.
At first it looked like a shooting star, white streak of light coming down very fast, but then it sparked orange flames. Not at the tail end though, the other end which appears heading towards Earth. I suppose that's it burning up?

This was near the Canadian US Border. I live in BC, close to the Washington State border. The sky is very clear tonight. I don't know degrees but if I had to guess it came into view at about 80 degrees. Slightly arcing downward, in the southern sky at about 12:14 am PST

Good morning!
Was there any sound along with this meteorite? Did it hit earth or just burn up?

Did you make a wish?

I enjoy hearing about these sightings.
I'd like to kid you and say 'pics or it didn't happen' - but maybe someone did get a shot of it. Did you check You Tube?

Have a great Sunday and keep looking up!

peace

No sound. I think it burnt up. It vanished after it turned orange.
This one came down lower than any others I have seen.
The sighting lasted about two seconds.

More than likely it was either one of the two... it's always a great moment to witness them though.

Two times I seen "shooting stars" displaying colours like red and blue..
I believe its the gasses inside the rocks that sets on fire due to heat when hitting earths atmosphere
beautiful
