We really need gender icons in our profiles, i always prosumed that paperclip was a bloke

sorry

It's ok, happens to me a lot. My name doesn't really say much about my gender, neither does my avatar.
It might be my inteligent posts and somewhat confronting tone in certain situations that make people think I am a guy.

@ Amuk : thank you, thank you

I think gender signifcation would be helpful. I don't usually try to assume gender, but I have a habit when offline of speaking differently to men then women. I might through in a few more F-words with the guys and never use a C word with the ladies.

EDIT: I was going to put a pic in here also, case the red tights weren't exactly a dead give away.

i was wondering, building on infinites gender icon idea, why not have mini flags in your user profile????

...I assume you mean a flag of the user's country...? This is more or less acheived by the Location field, but I agree; a flag would be a lot better!
(Although there would be no possibility for a personal touch...)

Usually the best way to find out someone's gender is to see them in action on BTS. It really comes through when people talk about personal stuff. I knew you were a woman paperclip.

Co'mon Kano I want to see how you look like, post your pick.

I will be removing my Avatar because my husband is paranoid about his picture in the net, he is asking me everyday if I took it out.

I agree... I like the idea, but not everyone is familar with the flags of most countries. But then again, something like this could help educate people, match the flag with the country.

But what about those in the states that would prefer to have their state flag?

UK Wizard, I love the men's room logo for gender identification. Very cool idea.
