I am very happy to know there may be a bit more fair play in what documentaries get nominated for the Academy awards.

Award winning producer Gerald Molen of "Jurassic Park", "Minority Report", "Rainman" fame wrote

“I am grateful to the leadership of the Academy as well as the voters for returning integrity and balance to a revered and respected national iconic organization,” the noted producer wrote in a letter Thursday to Cheryl Boone Isaacs, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. “On behalf of my fellow filmmakers and the vast American Heartland which, on occasion, has felt disenfranchised by the Academy, I want to personally thank you and the Academy for removing Mr. Moore and restoring a fair and impartial voting process to the documentary category of the Oscars,” he added.

Well maybe now Moore will have the time to make more documentaries. He is one hell of a director/producer.

It looks as though his removal was due to his personal political beliefs and the fact he did not put 2016: Obama's America at the top of a nomination list.

I agree with that decision. It was a bad film and to nominate it would be like nominating Alex Jones for one of his "documentaries".

But in the end...this was all about politics.

Yep, I agree it was about politics, and one man playing it to the nth degree, namely Michael Moore. I have watched his documentaries. I have watched how he does his job to make Cuba look like utopia. His work is very deceptive. Yuri Bezmenov, ex-KGB agent who defected to the West in the 1970's explained just how this sort of propaganda was done to indoctrinate Western teachers etc who would visit the Soviet Union. How special school were created and towns to make it look like Mayberry when reality was much different.

I am very glad Moore is gone. It's amazing how he hates America so much and yet makes millions off of his crap using the American system, all the while laughing at his fans behind their backs.

I think Michael Moore is a Hypocrite.

For a man who has millions, told folks at the Occupy Movement he supports them, but cant open one of his million dollar homes for those folks said a lot to me at the time. I expect more from people who "claim" they understand, but are unwilling to actually give real help. If I had Millions, I would be a broke man. That's the truth sheep.

He has a soapbox, has a outlet to actually do good, but in the end it doesn't matter if hes only pushing a political agenda. Hollywood could be doing a lot more for America, instead of lip service.

No different then a lobbyist in my eyes.

Ya he is great........
This man is no hero of the average person. He is a progressive nazi scum bag. He is nothing more then a mouth piece for TPTB. And yet the fools still eat it up. Good thing for him there is an endless supply of fools.

He is intellectually dishonest.

Coming soon to a hospital near us in America! Viva la revolucion! Yeh, right, and let's see how that all worked out for the Russians under Lenin and the Cubans under Castro. Animal farm in action folks!

I can agree that Moore is biased and partisan. So are the folks that got him removed.

And it was Moore’s famously liberal beliefs that prompted Molen to seek his removal as a governor overseeing the process of nominating documentaries

Either extreme can be dangerous.

His work is very deceptive.

Of course it is. In his documentaries he is trying to convey a particular point through the filter of his personal socio-political beliefs. You don't have to agree with the premise to enjoy the art of film making.

For example, do you have to like Busch Light if you listen to country music? Can someone not enjoy the art of making music without caring one bit about the lyrics or be labeled by those who do not enjoy it?

Yes he is....no argument there.

No different then a lobbyist in my eyes.

I disagree. He is an American using his money and skills to exercise his First Amendment Rights. We don't have to like it, but I'd bet you would also fight along side me in protecting his right to say crazy liberal things.

He may have a soapbox that gives him the chance to do something good...and maybe thats what he thinks hes doing.

Eye of the beholder?

He is a progressive nazi scum bag.

You may not agree with his beliefs, but to call him a Nazi only belittles the real atrocities the Nazis laid on Europe during the Third Reich.

By the way, Moore is a progressive socialist, in my opinion. The Nazis were ultra Neoconservitive fascists. There is no comparison.

Oh yeah. He has the right to say whatever he wants.
No question there.

But I hold those who actually have a soapbox to higher standards.

You know.

Perhaps that's the problem. We hold people to higher standards that what we even hold ourselves to. We each have a soapbox in some sort of form and fashion.

What do you do with yours?

I'm trying to make the most of mine.

The problem was he was abusing his position. So, I am very glad he is gone now. Maybe some great documentaries will be recognized this year, though to be honest, I don't watch the awards and prefer to do research on my own and not spend much time on TV or movies, though I do go out occasionally for a good movie.

Sorry Sheep, but I dont have the opportunity to speak to millions of people, or have Hollywood to back my play.

Not everyone has a soapbox. We have voices. Kind of hard to hear one voice, when there is a million screaming.

I do like some of the stuff Moore has done. Especially when he stood up for Flint Mi when Ford and the City ruined many many lives.

However, I cannot respect anyone in the political world that denies something as shady as 911... And the take over of the rich in resources of the Middle East.

I feel people like, Ron Paul, Nick Pope ( since he lately has joined and denies ignorence ) Moore and others tied to our political system are picking the topics to complain about that are elementary. Common sense... When they need to go after our most pressing of information and bring out in the open the Corruption of America starting with the killing of Kennedy and the reasons behind it and whats happened since.

I feel our standing in the world community would be much better if the world community could see we tolerate absolutely no corruption or greed. I think we as a Nation have been the most powerful of Countries for such a long time because we all stood for greater good, doing whats right. Good has always out weight Evil. Now that we as a Nation have stood behind the corruption and evil we will all pay for it. Rome will fall again and for reasons that are simple.... Doing the wrong thing has never worked for anyone.

I must respectfully disagree. You know that I'm doing the show for ATS Radio and you would be amazed at how one single voice can have an impact.

If you want to be heard...be heard.

I have respect for those like Moore that are willing to voice their opinions. Whether we agree with him or not is completely irrelevant.

Sorry but I dont respect his message, and everyone has an opinion.

Having a radio show, A Youtube account, posting on ATS......

We all have a voice. One isn't better then the other. Unless you have what this guy has, which is backing with huge amounts of money, or a big soapbox to say what you want. He has always had a knack to "sell" controversy. That's how he has made his money . I have seen MANY documentaries that are very good, but dont sell. I have heard many voices on the radio, that should be heard around the World, but are not.

Michael Moore was and is very good a selling his stories. If everyone was good at doing it, there would be many more people doing it.

I have my hands full with children. I work with BBBS. I think the only way to change the World, is with the Youth. But that's my humble opinion.......
