Appeals court says White House visitor logs can be kept from public

Link to Story

The president and future holders of this office will no longer have to reveal who they have at the White House. He said before he was elected he would be the most transparent president ever. But each day we see more and more from the NSA spying to the intimidation of the press to the scandals with those such as Snowden and Manning. He does not want anyone to know what he is doing.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton was extremely disappointed by the decision, saying "a president that doesn't want Americans, under law, to know who his visitors are is a president who doesn't want to be accountable. The appellate court decision punches another hole in the Freedom of Information Act, the law which allows Americans to know what their government is up to."

They have ruled that he is not held under the FOIA to reveal the comings and goings of visitors. Why not? What is he hiding and who is it he does not want the public to see is there meeting him and his advisors? He is rewriting to many laws without Congress who is there to keep him in check.

The legal gymnastics in this unprecedented decision shows that President Obama is not only one willing rewrite laws without going through Congress. And this legal fight, in which President Obama is fighting tooth and nail full disclosure under law of his White House visitors, further exposes his big lie that his administration is the most transparent in history. The silver lining is that at least the appellate court opened up the records of tens of thousands of White House visits that Obama was trying to keep secret," Fitton said.

We cannot visit the White House. We can't know who is at the White House. What is next, painting it another color and calling it 'My House'? I am sure Michelle would not mind.

Of course, what business of ours what OUR EMPLOYEES DO.

They are there on OUR dime,

The people have left the Government UNACCOUNTABLE for far too long.

We need to demand accountability on every level, I want to know who the PREZ is bribing with stays at the white house and such.

Cheney, the actual 43 president
held secret meetings with the top Energy Moguls.
Their conference probably changed the world in more
ways than we'll ever know.

This news is one of the more disturbing aspects concerning possibly the least transparent Administration in American history.

Nothing surprises me anymore.

That was when gas was 2 bucks a gallon right? If you read the article ,you will see this our dependency on foreign oil dropped almost 50% where has unemployment for the current admin is up 50%. Wanna guess who I would rather have in office?

This is what Cheney discussed and it is on wikipedia for god sake. I would say that is transparent

The National Energy Policy Development Group completed its report in the beginning of 2001. The 169- page report, released on May 17, 2001, was titled the National Energy Policy (NEP).[6]
Included in the proposed policy is the importance of energy efficiency and conservation. Using energy wisely is cited as the first challenge for the nation, as this will lessen the burden on our finances and the environment. The second listed challenge was to repair and add onto the existing network of refineries, pipelines, generators and transmission lines. It was stated that the refining and distribution of natural gas was effected by an inefficient and inadequate infrastructure, and that this issue could be remedied by 38,000 miles of new pipeline and 255,000 miles of distribution lines. The third challenge is "increasing energy supplies while protecting the environment". This section states that although renewable energy is a hope for the future, it will be many years until this energy is sufficient for the nations current needs, and therefore the requirements must be met using the available means.

The GAO was also informed which is who provides oversight.

Well, maybe "legally" they can, but Mr. Obama (pbuh) would never allow them to be kept from the public because he already promised the most transparent administration in the universe.

It's easy to keep gas at $2 when then administration is BIG OIL.
And yes I read it, did you? Nothing of relevance was released and most was keep
quite secret.

From Wiki;
The NEP was intended to be a directive with clear instructions on how to proceed with the new task force.[citation needed] Despite the fact that renewable energy was the purpose behind establishing this force[citation needed], only 7 of the 105 recommendations in the final report referenced renewable energy.[15] Many of the big oil companies were benefiting from the policy.[citation needed] There is some speculation that some of the congressmen profited from the policy due to the major contributions they got from these companies.[citation needed]
Most of the activities of the Energy Task Force have not been disclosed to the public, even though Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests (since 19 April 2001) have sought to gain access to its materials. The organisations Judicial Watch and Sierra Club launched a law suit (U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia: Judicial Watch Inc. v. Department of Energy, et al., Civil Action No. 01-0981) under the FOIA to gain access to the task force's materials. After several years of legal wrangling, in May, 2005 an appeals court permitted the Energy Task Force's records to remain secret.[16][17]

Nothing to hide?
Or how about this jem that predates 9-11?

"Documents turned over in the summer of 2003 by the Commerce Department as a result of the Sierra Club’s and Judicial Watch’s Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, concerning the activities of the Cheney Energy Task Force, contain a map of Iraqi oilfields, pipelines, refineries and terminals, as well as two charts detailing Iraqi oil and gas projects, and “Foreign Suitors for Iraqi Oilfield Contracts.” The documents, dated March 2001, also feature maps of Saudi Arabian and United Arab Emirates oilfields, pipelines, refineries and tanker terminals. There are supporting charts with details of the major oil and gas development projects in each country that provide information on the project’s costs, capacity, oil company and status or completion date."

First the OP was about transperecny in the current administration because he ran saying that is what is needed. Second, Obama received a total of $77,051 from the oil giant and is the top recipient of BP PAC and individual money over the past 20 years, according to financial disclosure records. He is in bed with big oil.
