I changed the colours a bit and added a couple more. Just pretend that i also made a light version; it would only be the same thing in orange anyway.

Everything here is 32x32 except for the Angel/Demon versions:

Roswell.

The emote is a 32x32 square. The head is a circle that fills part of that square. the horns can't extend beyond that square.

I could likely make the horns brighter in color. Same with the hands/thumbs. Making them bigger, though....i have the limitations of the canvas combined with SO's desire to have a uniform appearance.

Ill tinker later today.

I like roswell's style - reminds me of the meme guy...
could we have a "choice" of galleries to use?

I'm not an IT person, but if there could be a personalized option - just as we select avatars, backgrounds, colors, etc....
maybe a box on the Account page that gives us a "select smiley library" - so we could have "signature" styles?

I don't like the new ones at all - too sterile. If we can't do animated ones (boo!!!
), that's a drag, too.

Roll eyes, shake head, etc. - and a variety of colors to help express the "mood" intended??

sigh.

Some forums have hundreds of these babies in their selection areas - ATS would really SHINE if it offered a few different sets to choose from.
Can I do that? Nope. No way. Not a chance. But I KNOW you guys can!!

Also - the pastels are bland and icky, I think - could we do "jewel tones" instead? (Similar to the "share via" buttons on the top right?) Or would that be too "clashy" with the new ATS palette?

Me gusta.

I think you are going to have to work within the 32x32. He is employing css sprites, and will have a call to the same single file with different coordinates being viewed.

I may have that wrong...but he did say that it had to be 32x32.

Can I get a short post from somebody that includes links to all the 'completed' designs so far?

Just so we can keep track of what's being proposed and what's being worked on towards proposal.

I'm beginning to like the new emoticons currently offered on 5/3. I think a few of them could be kept, such as; the Cheers Smiley, the Angel & Devil Smilies, the Gun Smiley, and the Thumbs Up Smiley.

I like your Alien Smiley and the Angel with Wings Smiley.

I'd like to see a Flying Pig Smiley!

Right click and "save as" while you can.

They will all be burned to the ground.

Keep in mind that we may end up with 2 or 3 additional member-defined color schemes... which may also effect the smilies. That's why I originally selected a smiley @web-font.

If someone's clever enough to make nice smilies as a TrueType font... we might even pay for it.

Plus, the "web" desperately needs such a thing.

I used the Fontelico set:
fontello.github.io...

It's pretty much the only @font-face established for smilies/emoticons. I also happen to like them... clean.

The advantage to using fonts, like the Fontawesome icons in buttons and such, is that they scale cleanly to any size.

And, just like any normal font, you can define the color in the CSS. Huge advantage with more than one color scheme.

And finally, the file size is smaller than a bunch of PNG images, and you only have one download (the font set) for all smilies.

Here's some more hurt.

If we can come up with a nice smiley font set, we could open-source it so that any forum/blog could easily use it.

Here's my take on the new emot's.
They are clean and modern, and in that respect I like them.....very minimalist
...but I'm not sure what all of them mean.

just don't have enough difference ...not seeing laughing and great happiness.....
and I miss thumbs down..... and this one

The emot's we had...well, damn.....they're all most of us ever knew
