If it reaches a second page it will be surprising. There is nothing to talk about here.

I have to disagree...the "bubble" phenomena...aka echo-chamber...where a political party continues to move further toward it's fringe base and receives INCREASING and LOUDER "applause" while not fully realizing that while that applause is louder and larger, it is from a smaller number of people the farther to the right/left that they move the rhetoric.

The echo-chamber...the bubble...the "circle jerk"...the preaching to the choir vs. the congregation...etc. etc.

It creates a false illusion of larger support than is there...

It is why Karl Rove had that shocked, dumbfounded look on his face during the election coverage last November.

It is why Mitt Romney could not recover from his far-right rhetoric during the primary debates...he couldn't etch-n-sketch fast enough.

It is why people on the right attacked Nate Silver for doing math...his predictions seemed alien and bias to those stuck in the self-congratulatory bubble.

It is why smart GOP strategists have tried to move the party away from the far right, and having failed, are strategizing ways to limit the damage of the echo-chamber....Fewer primary debates...and less network coverage...NO CNN...NO NBC etc. etc.

Otherwise...the far-right remains the "center" of the GOP Rhetoric...Because of outlets and forums where like-minds applaud one another and dismiss all challengers as "Marxists’ and "socialists"....warm and cozy in thier bubble.

Louder, increasing applause...from a smaller and smaller base as the GOP slides further rightward.

The last buggy-whip manufacturer in the USA thought they were on top of the world! Thier sales were through the roof in the last few years. They were dominating the market, incredible growth, but what they didn't realize is that they were gaining customers because all of thier competition was going out of business as folks moved to automobiles. Rapidly growing share of a rapidly shrinking market.

I have had points deducted for my rebukes about the validity of their claims. obviously, my idea of trying to be clever in my wording, rather than use out and out vulgarity, wasn't fully appreciated by some of our MODS. their accumulation of stars and points reminds me of men standing in a round-shaped group, using their hands to fully compliment each other to a mutually satisfying conclusion.

I too have had points deducted by MODS who don't appreciate my best efforts to make a point while attempting to keep my remarks somewhat civil in my debates with some of these right-wing trolls, who pretty much dominate this forum. On the other hand, I have learned over time, that's exactly what points are for. At least I haven't found another use for them yet and I've been here for over 3 yrs..

Maybe if you liberal minded in this thread want to see some liberal threads, you should start some, instead of a wining rant thread on what you clearly don't understand.

I wish we had more thread authors that highlight the 'Left' views.

Can't figure out what the problem is.

The forum isn't lopsided. Look at the big picture.
They were all ticked off during the Bush43 years.
They will all be ticked off during the Chris Christie years that are coming.
It's really is even.

Well, I'm glad I found this thread...I know I'm not alone now.

I'm new here and have been banging my head against the wall in a few threads while talking with right wingers. Just the other day, I spent a considerable amount of time trying to "prove" a well documented fact that the deficit is shrinking...only to be met with denial and being told how stupid I was. I was shocked and at a loss, I mean you can only present a fact...you can't really argue for it's validity...because it is a FACT. So when I presented a fact with a source, and then another 4 sources because I was told I was "wrong"...I was just speechless to find that some here were still saying "you're wrong".

I'm thankful someone sent me a private message to let me know the reputation of the people I was debating and that I was basically wasting my time. It's kind of sad and it's sad reflection for the website that I came to because I thought I would find intelligent debate about topics (I didn't even come here for politics, but got sucked into it).

I did notice that the crowd here does seem very right leaning, I thought it was just dominated by that philosophy. So I'm glad to see this thread and see there are others of my same leaning but have just decided to abstain from the debate, probably because of the exact situation I had (explained above).

If it reaches a second page it will be surprising. There is nothing to talk about here. Give people credit. Also, in this era in America, liberal ideas, ones the govt sells, wreak of socialist controls. Gun control? Diane Feinstein wants to ban automatic, or semi-automatic weopons. She really wants to ban all guns, she'll tell you herself, but she is trying to start slow and get the most lethal ones out of law abiding citizens hands.

Think about our Constitution and amendments. Why were they written so clearly? Exactly for what is happening right now and happened 250 years ago. An overreaching govt (England) wanted to control and over charge people who had tried to escape such tyranny.

I am (and so are you) probably as smart or more than likely smarter than many who makes our laws of this land. I do not want more needless laws and garnishments of my rights. If our country went back to let's say....1988's laws do you think our nation would better or worse for wear?

our rights are determined by the ruling of the Supreme Court. the Supreme Court gave corporations the same rights as human beings, when clearly corporations are entities inscribed in writing that are formed to conduct business in a certain way. the Supreme Court has ruled that protections under the 4th amendment that guard against government control of it's people no longer applies...examples: "probable cause" has been downgraded to "reasonable suspicion" in the 4th amendment. search of and seizure of property no longer apply as written in the 4th amendment. the acquiring of a search warrant is no longer needed in each case.
in fact, the Supreme Court just invalidated the power of the civil rights act, by allowing any state to change voting laws at any time, even right before an election to eliminate certain people from voting... and the only recourse is to take it to court, which happens after the election.

gee, I wonder why the above has not been vigorously pummeled by the republicans, the freedom party, patriot party, and tea party organizations.

Much nonsense in this post. When the left continues to do things that are unpopular or a detriment to our society, I don't care how right leaning someone is, if he is intelligent and realizes the wrongdoings he will speak out about it. You are also stereotyping every single poster on this forum who doesn't support the radical freedom stealing policies of our current administration as far right. I am a Libertarian, I will not hesitate to call out the right for their nonsense just like I speak out against the current administration's stupid policies. If you'd look past the rhetoric that your party spews on a constant basis and actually review the things they do and policies they implement you'd see that many of the things that are said by this administration are flat out lies.

Though just because there are many problems with our administration, I don't cheerlead blindly. I could care less about the whole birth certificate issue. I like equal rights for all and don't support the Christian leaning right.

Seriously, this thread is developing like this: Op makes a claim that there are too many right leaning threads on the PMF. The responses from the left are all saying that they are just threads to pat each other on the back, meanwhile they are doing that EXACT same thing in this thread.

Yes they were, but they weren't repealed or gotten rid of when the leadership changed. In fact they were expanded making this administration just as culpable as the previous one.

Indeed. It is quite a surprise.

However as of posting this, NorEaster has only received 8 Flags and 12 Stars for his OP,

If he had started a thread on "I've just broke wind and it smells like Obama", the ATS server would have crashed from all the S&F clicks.

Onward to page 3.

My honest opinion...My reason for not posting more topics for debate?

I really enjoy debate...I don't enjoy playing fetch with rabid dogs.

Most OPs that don't include Briebart, WND, FOX, Glen Beck or Rush Limbaugh as a gospel source and premise, usually have posts on page one shouting "Marxist"..."Communist"...."Hater of the constitution!"

I mean really...life is short...who cares? What do you get out of those debates?

It hasn't been pummeled because law abiding citizens would like for each person in our country to prove they have the right to one vote. For whatever reason the left feels it's not fair to ask each and every person for proof of who they are at the voting booth. If a person can not show that they are entitled, yes entitled by citizenship and age, to vote, then they don't get to. It's one area where conservatives like our privacy invaded, for the good of our country. I don't want joe shmo being able to go vote as dead Mr smith from down the street.

I do agree with you that our supreme court has failed us on many an occasion. Giving human rights to a corporation was a real low point that's taken us downslope.

Something else that shocked me as I was browsing around the page, I noticed that quite a few of the people here that I have encountered that don't seem to care about facts and that I was banging my head against the wall trying to show them one simple, documented, objective fact are considered "top members" on this website. Now, I'm not sure how they obtain that status, but it is scary.

I clicked on a few of the names of other "top members" to check out their threads, and the majority of them seem to all have extreme right leaning opinions. Many I have encountered, most have been rather rude in comments and private messages. It's not really giving me a great impression of the community.

So is it just a lost cause to discuss politics on this website? I came for the aliens and ufos, but politics are more conducive to discussion, but if it is just going to be akin to talking to children (which unfortunately has been my experience so far), I think I may just abstain as well.

Talk about OLD arguments go figure another thread about how republican opposites continually perpetuate a false narrative how they are 'better' than the right.

To date none have ever proven it.

Just goes to show them evil right wingers are the most productive part of society.

True story as that is the premise of this thread.
