Haliberton claimed that the they were pressured by the US goverment to maintain the use of Kuwati fuel supplier in order to promote the support of Kuwait for the Iraq war effort.

Now does this indicate that Haliberton has either fallen from favor of the US or are they saying it because they wish to distance themselves from the US under terrorist pressure of retaliation for their support of Iraqi war efforts.

Haliberton blames US goverment and the US goverment blames Haliberton for over charging defense dept. by $1.00 per gallon for fuel.

To me, it seems that Halliburton is responding to charges of price-gouging and favored-contractor status by claiming that it was the Kuwaiti government that recommended Altanmia Commercial Marketing, who were both inexperience and expensive, but a favorite son of the Kuwaiti gov't.
