Is president Obama going the Bush’s way and walking into a trap? The allegations of using chemical weapons by the Assad regime in Syria may be true or just like the WMD used as a ploy to attack Iraq. One thing is, however, clear; the Ball of Fire that Obama misadventure could create which would surely engulf the entire Middle East. This is what Syria warned the United States about a possible military action over a suspected chemical weapons attack in its civil war, saying it would "create a ball of fire that will inflame the Middle East". Iran has also warned the US to desist from crossing redline. Earlier, doctors said that hundreds were killed in Syria in a poison gas attack.

Reuters has reported that a team of United Nations inspectors is waiting in a hotel in Damascus a few miles from the site of the attack, but Syria suggested they would not be allowed to visit as it was not on a list agreed in July of alleged chemical attacks this year. U.S. President Barack Obama met his top military and national security advisers on Saturday to debate options. U.S. naval forces have been repositioned in the Mediterranean to give Obama the option of an armed strike.

But Syria said any military action would be "no picnic" (for the US).

Right now the US is fighting to depose Assad regime through proxy; the Syria opposition consisting of fighters from Arab countries most al Qaeda elements who have been armed and funded by the US. Obama decision to dispatch its naval forces for a possible attack on Syria, however, is a serious business which would tear the world apart in two poles; Russia, Iran and Syria would fight the combined military might of the West and terrorists of all hues funded from Arab charities and public coffers of Saudi Arabia and Gulf States. The head of the al Qaeda-linked Nusra Front has pledged to target communities from Syria's Alawite faith, followed by Assad, with rockets in revenge for Wednesday's incident, according to an audio recording published on YouTube

If there is an actual military strike, then i honestly believe that would be the start to WW 3 .....

That is, unless Russia believes that the Rebels used it with the backing of the US to help overthrow their ally...

At which point who knows what Russia will do.

Military actions are never a "picnic" for the poor soul carrying rifle and bayonet forward into meat grinder. Only the profiteers will be invited to this picnic. It will be the perpetual feast for them, these sucubai of human misery. Someone diabolical in unknown reaches in congnita, gorge upon pain, suffering, death and destruction.

while i agree with your sentiments i would just like to point out rifles (while still used) and bayonettes are not the weapons of choice anymore and most of the damage can be done from a seated position and in relative comfort with the use of financial weapons and tools, manned aircraft , drones, various types of naval vessels, etc.

all of which can do damage at exceedingly long distances from the operator
our ratio of deaths to kills for boots on the ground in recent decades has been mind bogglingly low (so low in fact we lose more people to suicide than combat)

Indeed old chap. I stand corrected by your excellent points. I of course am still in the Deutches Kaiserreich, my thoughts as it were. I wax nostalgic upon the preface to The Great War, today those same feelings stir inside memories of the collective consciousness.

american and jewish backed FSA (al qaeda) are the ones using chemical weapons.
Watch this video and many others.
www.liveleak.com...

You must be really stupid to think Assad would use chemicals....Assad knows that if he did it would be game over.
Any one noticed how Syrians got Hezbollah helping them as well?
Syria is one big proxy war.

You can be sure of nothing and Liveleak is no way to determine fact from fiction. Nor are any of the self-styled truthers on ATS. Very little critical thinking takes place on ATS now and it is usually commentary on regurgitated press releases winged across the news wires. Those same press releases are further eroded by spurious blogs – all spinning for website hits.

How fractured the Assad regime has become is an unknown quantity and who is vying for power another question altogether.

You also misunderstand what al-Qaeda is. In Arabic, 'qaeda' can mean 'base' or 'foundation'. This has all it meant and only governments and media spin the term towards a globally networked terrorist organisation. If anything, those affiliating themselves with 'al-Qaeda' are mercenaries using jihad as a way of life – jumping from one war to the next. Look in any great detail and the disenfranchised youth of war-struck Islamic countries are most likely to jump on the al-Qaeda 'brand' wagon. It is just that and always has been. A brand most appealing to those who feel all power has been stripped away from them.

Well i don't know what army you served in but infantry in the United States are still issued bayonets and I know personal friends who would smack you in the face if you made light of the bullets that cut down many of their friends in Iraq and Afghanistan.

They would also take great issue with making light of the combat they fought and are still fighting.

The fact that we lose fewer in force on force combat is a great testament to the skill of our pilots and the accuracy of our artillery. It is very rare indeed when we can win any kind of conflict with air power alone. Syria would be one of those we could not win with just air power.

War is hell no matter whose side your on. What Assad is doing is not war, it is murder against women and c children. The rebels wish they had the capability to launch chemical weapons, they don't. The Russians know this, they sold them to him, lol. They are not real happy he used them however.

The main reason they, Russia, probably won't protest too much is the fact they made the chemical weapons he is using. Personally, the best thing that could happen is one of the generals puts a gun to his head and kills him. Would save allot of lives.

The Bot

If we do hit them it will be with cia ops on the ground lasing targets. It won't be successful without them.

Or not! This is what the perpetrators wanted you to think! Its a classic deflection technique!

Either Assad, loose General or some other Syrian siding faction did this!

Good point, but why take the risk? The Syrian govt.(Assad) has the momentum and the upper hand in the conflict, has gained support, Why risk losing partners like Russia and China and face total annihilation,? adding this perspective (without evidence) still leads one to a single logical conclusion, that this attack was perpetrated by the opposition to frame the government. Additionally IF the Syrian govt ordered such an attack(understanding the risk)surely they would have picked a higher profile target...

Because they know the end game already and may have been told something by Russia re: support limits or other. The amount of people already killed demonstrates their lack of consideration for life! Maybe there are invisible splits in the regime!

Russia will not intervene. China will not intervene. Iran will scream and shout and throw itself on the floor in a tantrum, banging its head and screaming how unfair the world is. Assad will be bombarded to the point where the rebels can walk in and take over.

The fact that many innocent people will die won't even be a bump on the conscience of any leader. Ordinary people are expendable, having no more worth than a cockroach.

This will not be a UAV war. I don't know if there will be boots on the ground, but there will be pilots in the aircraft.
