That sounds like the most perfect propaganda piece I've EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE!!!! It has all the most perfect elements. Just doesn't get any better than that. ...."ohh ya it's convinced me, I'll set my alarm clock and head to the clinic to get all my shots at the crack of dawn tomorrow!.....ohhhhh scary!....I better take my shots or I'll surly catch something, especially when tptb say so!!!"

Not sure what your point is here.... Is it that vaccines work in Congo, but are dangerous in the west?

How about polio beeing epidemic in Nigeria? How about Nigerian extremists killing health workers because of the insane conspiracy that polio vaccines is a plot to kill/sterilize/spy on muslims, which again leads to polio spreading to other neighbouring countries?

Polio was all but eradicated, but thanks to non-educated idiots and extremists, now children can get paralyzed or die thanks to the great gift of polio instead.

Nah, just as long as you're no planing on going there you can continue to live in your little part of the world with your little delusion, good luck with that

t&c forbids me to say in plain words what I think about your attitude, but use your imagination....

Fantastic....

So, I conclude that your life, in your own eyes is more worth than that of people in africa, and that promoting your delusion is a way of depopulation and slow genocide that you approve of. This again shows your poor morale and lack of humanity.

Carry on

And... Yes people promoting the de-facto murder of children and health workers makes me a bit angry, don't really think that makes me a candidate for medication.

I'm glad you have a U.S. Public School who kindly waived the vaccination requirements. Having dealt with schools for my Son in 3 states, I couldn't begin to imagine what state or school district that was.. but I'll take your word for it that one exists among the public system. I've never heard of it and the law in those 3 states I'm aware of isn't the least bit flexible on the matter..

But hey.. On this thread? I could say the sky was blue..and at least one self declared expert and absolute genius on the subject would be there like Johnny On The Spot to explain how, gee, silly little rabbit...the sky isn't blue. It's black with a trick of daylight across the matter which makes up the atmosphere to make it appear blue. :shk:

Thanks for the correction though....it's fun to get nitpicked to death by the peanut gallery on every tiny detail of everything said.

*By the way.. Yes, there are a few exceptions under law. They are VERY narrowly defined by law, VERY few in nature and it takes a hell of a lot more than a casual mention or polite request of "Gee... Can I please ignore the law about public health and vaccine requirements? please please?".

I'm not saying you're lying...but if you had been through that process? I find it VERY hard to believe you'd refer to it as casually as asking for a different brand of milk in the lunch room. Hey, what do I know though? It's not like I've been through the system you're talking about to know it. Nawww... hell... I just make crap up as I go. really.

I think that the scientific evidence of the benefit vs risk for the majority of vaccinations is very sound and I notice a lot of superficial knowledge about physiology and immunology in those rabidly against them.

However, in a free society no one should be forced a medical treatment or medication against their will.

OTOH, in a free society, those who choose to forego life saving treatments have no one to blame but themselves and should take the responsibility and consequences of their actions.

Freedom and responsibility go hand in hand.

Well said.

In such a litigious country as the US though I wonder how long it will be before someone will sue a non-vaccinated person for passing on a disease to them?

That's set the cat amongst the pigeons....

I exempted my children from the vaccines in the mid 90's. They went to daycare and public school with no problems. The system will say you have to get the vaccines or your children cannot attend school. They will not volunteer the information. If you don't ask for the exemption allowed in your state then you will not get it.

Sadly, only a few offer the philosophical exemption while most offer the medical (almost impossible to get unless you can PROVE negative reaction or allergy (how do you know a baby is allergic?)) or a religious exemption. If you opt for the religious exemption they will press you for your denomination and if it's not a JW or something like that which is against vaccines they will say it's not against your religion which the only think you reply is "It is against MY religious beliefs" and they have to give you the blue card exempting you.

I got four of those cards, photocopied them and gave them to each daycare or school my children attended. I never had a problem. I live in Florida.

So you are religious to the point that you have cards exempting your children from getting vaccines because it offends your spirituality?

What if that puts other children at risk? All it takes is one bad apple. One bad apple, and the whole barrel goes bad.

FEAR PORN at it's best folks! Lap it up and get your shots! Who gives damn if it destroys your immune system or turns your perfectly HEALTHY child into a sick child, paralyzes them and harms them beyond belief, it's for your own good! The first rule of medicine is "DO NO HARM!"

That's the problem. If anything goes wrong in the US, SOMEBODY has to pay, and the lawsuits fly.

If I suggest an herbal remedy to a patient and their condition worsens, I get sued and I lose the suit because that would not be standard of care. Many people want to do what they want--and that is perfectly fine--but want someone else to pay when something goes wrong. This is not fine.

I think one should be free to do what they want but, at the same time, they need to own up to the consequences and not play the blame game. I am for complete choice in any medical intervention, including vaccinations, but that needs to come with personal responsibility as well.

How would someone PROVE that they caught something from a non-vaccinated person? You can't.

Besides that, if that person who was infected was vaccinated, how did they catch something from a non-vaccinated personin the first place? Because vaccines ALWAYS work, right.

Oh, except for Whooping cough. And measles. And polio. And the flu.

Here's just one example. You can look up the others.
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov...

As an aside, I'm an RN and know better than to take any vaccinatinos. Funny how everyone gets the flu shot in the office and who's the one that doesn't get sick?Me.

As a nurse you should understand that no medication, vaccination, or even natural immunity from previously having a viral infection is 100%. Also you should know that immunocompromised people, such as those with HIV/AIDS and cancer quite often have recurrences of childhood diseases that they previously had natural immunity to.

Hmmm RN nurse and you do not know this simple transmission? Since i work with these all my 4 yrs of bachelors in Microbiology, ill explain how.

1) Kid A gets vaccinated against Virus 1.

2) Kid B is UNvaccinated against Virus 1.

3) Kid B gets sick with Virus 1.

4) Kid B give the virus chance to mutate(factors in diet, environment, genes and body chemistry).

5) Kid B produces a mutant strain of Virus 1, now called Virus 1A.

6) Kid A is who got vaccine is not protected against Virus 1A, Vaccine for Virus 1 has no effect now.

Vaccine is not 100%, they just give you a better chance to prepare for the battle. Almost like going into fight with enemies strategy already known. How often do you see person affected with Polio in 21st century?

I'm an RN and know better than to take any vaccinations. Funny how everyone gets the flu shot in the office and who's the one that doesn't get sick?Me.

Just because you have vaccine does not mean you will not get sick, getting slight fever might be worse if it weren't for vaccine.

I do not take flu vaccine, my reasons are this..Its a "guess" shot, they combines 3 strains from previously encountered strains and estimate the pattern for this years attack. there is a decent amount of chance the flu might be a different strain.

This is only for Flu shots, because many anti-Vaccine people like to mix up their vaccines.
