David Cameron ordered the destruction of Guardian hard drives!

Well, well, well... This is massive news if it's true.

A spokesman for Clegg made clear that Heywood was acting on the authority of both the prime minister and his deputy. The spokesman said: "We understand the concerns about recent events, particularly around issues of freedom of the press and civil liberties. The independent reviewer of terrorism legislation is already looking into the circumstances around the detention of David Miranda and we will wait to see his findings.

"On the specific issue of records held by the Guardian, the deputy prime minister thought it was reasonable for the cabinet secretary to request that the Guardian destroyed data that would represent a serious threat to national security if it was to fall into the wrong hands.

"The deputy prime minister felt this was a preferable approach to taking legal action. He was keen to protect the Guardian's freedom to publish, whilst taking the necessary steps to safeguard security.

"It was agreed to on the understanding that the purpose of the destruction of the material would not impinge on the Guardian's ability to publish articles about the issue, but would help as a precautionary measure to protect lives and security."

Not only did this achieve absolutely nothing (assuming all the data is backed up or online), but it looks like the Prime minister may have shot himself in the foot with a HUGE blunder.

I placed some of the text in bold to highlight just how desperate they really are. Instead of taking legal paths to prevent this, they went straight in with the muscle to destroy and intimidate the journalists.

Hopefully this will be the nail in the Tories coffin.

Why is it that they can take action as soon as.BUT yet when it comes to the phone hacking they simply drag it out and still no action on that front.

I think the David Cameron(which by the by is his Trading name) so let's call him "timmy" has not done his party Justis this turn around what with the phone hacking the bedroom tax.

They don't handle thing's good lets say.

No hard drivers, just a graphics card a mother board and what looks like two bits of a laptop.

No actual drives, SSD or other wise. Total joke and waste of time.

The Prime Minister told him: "I will look carefully at this case. In general we should support whistleblowers and what they do to help improve the provision of public services. I will have a look and get back to you."

David Cameron to look into arrest of whistleblowers in Cumbria PCC scandal

PRIME minister David Cameron has told MPs that he will look into the arrests of whistleblowers by Cumbria Constabulary.

Two members of police staff were arrested for leaking details of Cumbria police and crime commissioner Richard Rhodes’s expenses to a local newspaper.

Concerns have been raised by several MPs about the investigation, and police tactics have been described as “heavy handed.”

Mr Cameron spoke during Prime Minister’s Questions today (Wednesday) in response to a question from Lib Dem president Tim Farron on whether whistleblowing was in the public interest.

Mr Cameron said: “It’s important to support those speaking out and we will look into the Cumbria case raised.”

To use both the US and UK governments statements to us, the people. IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE, YOU HAVE NOTHING TO BE AFRAID OF.

I think we can all work out the answer to that, cant we. The cat is out of the bag and your damage limitation exercise is an absolute joke.
