The Nevada AFL-CIO unanimously passed a resolution Wednesday condemning the Affordable Care Act, known to its critics as Obamacare.

"The unintended consequences of the ACA [Affordable Care Act] will lead to the destruction of the 40 hour work week, higher taxes and force union members onto more costly plans," said the resolution.

The union resolution passed unanimously hours after an address from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV). The Las Vegas Sun says Reid did not discuss Obamacare in his remarks but has previously blasted some union leaders for "exaggerating" the damage Obamacare will do to union workers and told one union leader, D. Taylor of UNITE Here, to "just calm down and stop frightening people."

Nevada AFL-CIO: Obamacare Will Destroy 40-Hour Work Week

PRESS RELEASE: NV State AFL-CIO Calls on Congress, Obama to Fix the Affordable Care Act

As the PPACA was in debate, many individuals and organizations warned of the consequences.

More warnings were discussed after the law passed and portions were implemented.

Many supporters ignored the warnings.......until recently that is.

It looks like some of the biggest and baddest supporters have now 'seen the light'.

The Unions' (and many others) recent 'un support' is becoming a quandary for many who support Obama, ObamaCare, and Unions collectively.

'Support' was always 'automatic' and worked both ways. But now they must choose. Good Luck to ya on that argument !!

Unless of course, the Unions were in on the calculated agenda ??

Who is REALLY getting hoodwinked here ?

Good. I am a member of the AFL-CIO CWA, and all of the liberal democrap propaganda BS they pushed during the 2008 and 2012 election was sickening.

BTW im not really well liked in my unit, because I tend to speak my mind, which is how the unions roll. I am surprised the AFL-CIO is speaking out, they probably see that union membership will be decimated with failing businesses that they help kill... for a change.

Harry Reid says 'Calm down and stop frightening people?' Well, if Scary Harry would pass a damned budget, maybe people wouldn't be scared of whether this nation survives the year, let alone the current decade.

As it is, I'm surprised to see the Unions turn hard on this. It scares me real deeply about what this is going to do and tends to confirm the worst scenarios being presented. If the people who helped pass it now want it dead and in such an openly costly political way? This sucker really IS THAT BAD.

Wow.... They need to kill the law before it tears up and destroys anything more. 29.5 hours is pretty much the rule around here in much of the entry level/general employment. That really helped the 'ol ability to work 1 and not 2 jobs.

Can't possibly be true, because Obama is communist planted by the liberals. leftists and unions - so it much be a "false flag" somehow!

They're not opposed to the entire ACA, just a portion of it.

I'm sure you just forgot to mention that.

I wonder how this PPACA deal will affect union contracts as they expire.

Does anyone know of any recent contract negotiations ?

People on local bargaining committees would have first hand knowledge.

Most negotiation sessions include union reps from the higher ranks too.

They had to pass the law before they could know what's in it.

Now they have to live with the law before they can know whether to like it or not.

Indeed.....and Kennedy really enjoyed the ride in Dallas except for those pesky couple minutes in the Plaza.

It's a lemon and too rotten to even make a decent glass of lemonade out of at this point.

So you think the unions were in on the plot to make the middle class 'less middle' ?

That's what the commies want right ?

Which portions seem to be the thorn in their sides in your view ?

It looks like the entire thing might be the 'thumbs in your eyes' that is putting the full time issue on the chopping block.

I think PPACA says "full time" is now 30 hours or something ?

At first glance, I'm really liking the numbers.

Have you seen the "new jobs created" figures?

It's up something like 30%!

err wait...

1/2=2 ?

At least try and get the conspiracy theory straight.

Like this:

Obama is a plant by a Fifth Column power put in place
timed with the take down of America

Union leaders are concerned with a provision of the law that call for the provision of health insurance for people who work more than 30-hours per week, meaning workers’ hours could be cut so that employers don’t have to provide health insurance.

Well that makes sense.

Now, what in PPACA needs to be changed ?

How do they avoid the 'Domino' dilemma ?

[As if the Domino Dilemma isn't already happening ]

Or do unions simply define full time at 40, and somehow force companies to pay the insurance rates.

I wonder what the cost of concessions will be.

Oh !

The union solution will be make the employers pay for a 40 hour week whether or not they work it.

Like they did with holiday pay, double time, and triple time, and multi-week vacations, and paid maternity leaves.

Unions always have an angle to get paid for doing nothing.

Hey that is the new math, the common core curriculum.
They have to deploy this so that the public is no longer capable
of figuring out whether they are being ripped off, over charged, or
outright scammed.

1+1 = 3 and you get a star!

Indeed, they got that right too on the current regime.
They did their homework, I will give them that.

Now, whether they underestimate the resistance, remains to be seen.
Funny thing about dividing and conquering, some allinaces are made stronger by division.
