Bradley Manning: 'I am a woman named Chelsea'

Bradley Manning, the US soldier who leaked secret US government documents to the Wikileaks website, has announced he wants to live as a woman.

"I am Chelsea Manning," Pte First Class Manning said in a statement to NBC's Today programme. "I am a female."

The 25-year-old said he had felt female since childhood, wanted at once to begin hormone therapy, and wished to be addressed as Chelsea.

Ok so i hared this in the radio this morning and i really did think it was some kind of a joke.

but its not,

its actually true.

Bradley manning in his own words is actually "a woman named Chelsea".

I personally have no problem with people who are transgender or wish to have a sex-change but I am pretty shocked by this

Either he is trying to discredit himself, or someone else is trying to discredit him.

Sounds like some brainwashing may have occurred while he was in the brig, assuming someone else is trying to discredit him.
