I'm confused??? Obama is mixed race but the media calls him the first black president, but this kid is a mixed race and they call him white. What's the criteria a mixed race person must meet to be considered either white or black?

Having looked at this and other crimes that are similar to this, the following can be stated:

The problem is that we have been programed when it comes to crimes like this. If it was white on black, the race baiting blame industry would be all over this pointing out how rascism still exists and make all sorts of cries and claims that this is typical in the USA. But when it is the reverse, it is horrible and yet the media is hesitent to make any claims or take a stand. That is part of the programing.

What we as a people and society should be more in fear of is how the laws are either applied or not applied. Far too often we see an inequality in how the laws are applied by the very people we elect into office.

So the question that needs to be asked, is the FBI and the justice department looking into this case as being a hate crime, violating federal statues and laws, or is it being passed over, as the suspects are black? After all if it is not being considered as such, like all of this nature, then perhaps we should cry out and demand equal justice across the board when it comes to the persuit and investigation of such crimes, where the victim and the suspect are of different races.

Not likely. Chris Lane was shot in the back as the kids drove by in a car. So the only thing that would have helped him here would have been a bullet proof vest. Unfortunately one doesn't typically wear those things when going for a jog down the street, not to mention Lane wasn't fearing for his life either. Actually check that, how many people go jogging with a gun strapped to their waists?

I'd like to point out the fact that Black squirrels tend to be more aggressive and hyped than thier brown counterpart. And usually tend to gang up on thier brown counterpart as well.

Can you imagine for a moment if there had been a different outcome?

What if this victim had only been initially wounded, and was able to successfully defend himself and killed one or more of the alleged assailants?

There's a problem here, one that's been illustrated using facts and you're saying to ignore it?

No Chance. I'm not racist, heck my last girlfriend was african-american, but I am strongly opposed to the thug culture which pushes racism against whites and happens to be predominantly black in it's membership.

And that culture is why we're having incidents like this and Martin. If Martin wasn't a subscriber to the thug culture, there's a good chance he wouldn't have jumped Zimmerman.

I'm glad I'm not the only one appalled at this thread. It's disgusting, the hate game that's going on here. You see a racial hate crime happening, and you imitating the exact same attitude that motivated the crime. Doesn't matter why - the best response to hate is love.

So where's the love? Instead of showing people how to hate, show them how to love. This is a perfect opportunity to demonstrate how to handle things differently, how to approach this type of event with a mature and compassionate and wise tactic. It's not like Ghandi or Martin Luther King advocated half the stuff you guys are saying. But maybe no one cares what they thought - they were both assassinated. They did what was right and paid with their lives.

And yet they both won. They made the difference. They set an example, at the most personal sacrifice anyone could ever make. They showed it could be done. Maybe that's worth checking out, you know? Maybe it's worth trying some of their strategies instead of perpetuating the hate game those kids started. The game you're continuing on this forum. I thought we were better than this.

Have to love the hypocrisy. And as the OP I am very happy with what I have achieved and where I am. Quite happy and love my family, job, town, etc...
