ATS.5/3 24 Hour Member Beta Test

The test site was viewed on a win 7 machine using the firefox browser v.23.0.1 on a samsung syncmaster p2350 led monitor. Erorrs are from the Firebug plugin.

A few errors here and there on the site. It's a bit random and could be related to ad content.

Not sure if you saw my earlier post op.
Just as in the past, I am still not able to set my time zone to match.
I click on it but it always goes to different ones.
Maybe you can look into this while still in the early stages of the new look.

I am on IE running win 7 and the new look seems nice.

I popped over to the new site and was poking around, and posted a reply with two YouTube videos in it. When I came back over to the old site a little while later and was reading replies under mine, I noticed a third empty video in my reply. It put just the empty youtube tags after the second video when I put the reply up.

Chrome, with Windows 8.

What happened to my ATS points? They do not appear on my profile page, and although virtually valueless they were the only high-ratio stat I had. They gave me a clue about some of the members I would encounter in the forums - those who were low points or in a deficit were obviously fined often and were likely agitators. It was a clue to the personality type.

VERY wide screen required - eats up my extra space utilized for my "buttons." I would either have to use a scroll bar to read the whole screen or keep adjusting the window size in order to use my other functions. Will probably have to open ATS under its own browser or browser window and keep it separate from my other open windows, i.e., Wiki, dictionary, news, home page news, etc., so I can deal with ATS new format on its own and apart from all else.

Would probably be a natural to go along with Windows 8, however, I refuse to use that. I gave my wife the new laptop I bought that had Win 8 so I would not have to look at it. I hope ATS doesn't go the same way with me but the new format is too wide, too light, and too Win 8-like gimmicky for my tastes. That adds up to enough distractions to make me want to wander elsewhere that still has a more serious look to it. It could be awhile before I could take this format seriously and prompt me to "want" to use it.

Any chance we could still keep an old format option for those of us who are still on desktops and not hand-held mobiles?

Yep, you've got another Windows 8 on your hands. Some are bound to like it but a whole lot of us will hate it. Needs more work and other options.

ETA: Will need to keep ATS in its own browser so I can adjust it to 75% size to keep it usable and not have to keep readjusting when going to other sites. At least I can deal with it that way.

I checked, and it says my Java is enabled. Is there some kind of special boxes I need to check in my Java?
I'm not very computer savvy. You'll have to tell me what to check, or uncheck.

Also, the little hand that appears over the rest of the menu tabs goes to a line symbol over the drop down menu.
So, it won't link to the menu.

When I receive messages, there does not appear to be an alert like the banner bar on our current format.

Wow, rapid response! Nice on the star color, much better than the grey.

My Sprint Galaxy Note will not open the site. It will accept the user name but not the password.

Current background is 180 pixels wide & 480 pixels high (according to BTS Avatar creations thread members) which is what my one is set at.

So the new beta background should be wider than 180 pixels......shouldn't it?

VERY wide screen required

If you scale your browser window to 1024 pixels wide, everything scales to fit (some minor items might not yet).

You'll know you hit that point when everything snaps to the smaller size.

Sorry, was looking at the CSS and forgot to add the padding.

The new width is 200 pixels in total.

youtube videos in HD and widescreen embedded in the new version look AWESOME compared to the old version.

No complaints or problems with anything here.

Light/white backgrounds have evolved into the contemporary design sensibility across the Internet. Since the vast majority of our traffic are non-members, we wanted to make sure our design was compatible with what people have become used to seeing nearly everywhere else.

Ahhh I see. A very good and yet unexpected answer.

Oh and btw the responsive navigation looks funky when you take the browser window and make it very thin.
Teh navigation should collapse after a certain width.

And can I just say the upload program which gives you the last pic uploaded at the top of the screen instead of the bottom is a very cool modification.

Overall, so far, I like it.

It works great on my Galaxy SIII. I have a lot of frustrating issues with the regular site and my phone, but the new site zips right along, and is pretty easy to use so far.
