Are you an American? I hope not. I would be mortified to see such an attitude in a fellow American.

Are you suggesting that corporate media encouraged those boys to kill out of boredom?

No.

I'm saying much more than that,
not merely suggesting.

I'm indicting the corporate controlled media
for their complicity in this murder
by making the word "bored" one of the most powerful
most enchanted,
most self justifying words in all of American culture.

I'm not suggesting.

I'm saying.

The corporate controlled media has blood on ITS hands.

Well, if you are a minority you have to suspect every white person of being David Duke.

You can't assume that the man doesn't belong to a racial pride organization that will burn crosses and drag young black men to their deaths. Being a member of an irate organization or outlandish religious cult like lets do 14 year old and pull scriptures out of our hats isn't illegal in the US like it is in China.

Did you even read the article? Do us all a favor here and stop posting until you've read the article. This has nothing to do with race, so I'm a little suspicious that you brought it up at all.

It appears the person above signed up for the wrong website.

They were clearly looking for a site where race baiting and advocating murder are acceptable.

The mistake has been corrected.

Are you trying to say that being bored isn't a powerful motivation

I'm saying that the word "bored" is both invalid,
and of no justification what-so-ever.

You seem to be justifying the word bored as a real thing.

It's not.

As a young man in the 70's I used that word once on my mother.
The TV had convinced me that if I complained to Mom that I was "bored"
she would take me to the fun-fair-park.

Me: "Mom, I'm bored"

Mom (isn't having any of it): "By using the word 'Bored',
you are doing nothing more than admitting that you do not have
the INTELIGENCE to come up with something to do on your own!"

That was the end of the discussion,
and I rethought my use of the word bored,
and the advice I was getting from the TV.

I went on to become very creative,
always inventing games my friends and siblings could play.

Years later, when I left to join the military, I called home and talked to Mom.

Mom: All your friends came over yesterday.

Me: Cool. What did they say.

Mom: They said they missed you, that you used to always have ideas on what to do.

/shed the word bored,

and after 40 years,
it's time the corporations and their amoral advertisers paid for what they have done.

for the murder of a very well-respected baseball player who came on vacation and left on...a hearse.

How could he leave the USA on a hearse? Australia is on the other side of the world.

Duh.

I genuinely lol'd.

Thank you.

Is that all you have to say? Or is there a particular reason you feel that way?

obviously haven,t saw cathrinewheels posts but going by every one being removed i guess she has issues that won,t be welcome here.

anyway back to the issue involved, its happening everywhere with the younger generation, its all over the world not just america. they have no respect for anything theses days,i,m only 37 but here in scotland its got beyond a joke in the 20 odd years since i was a teenager.

people believe that a meteor or some natural disaster will be the end of everything. No if things continue the way they are going then it will be us that ends everything ourselfs, another few generations and thats exactly where its heading.hope i,m wrong but i doubt it.

I agree. It's not just our North American children/youth . . .it's everywhere. I have friends in parts of Central America whose kids have gone wild (and it doesn't help that they have lower drinking age requirements). My opinion is that many of the young moms and dads out there have (obviously) very little experience with child-rearing due to the fact that they are still kids themselves! Therefore, these young parents (not all of course) will teach them to be selfish, few manners, etc. How many kids nowadays say please and/or thank you? Let alone, hold the door open for an older person? This generation needs true love and more attention from their parents.

My daughter will sometimes tell me the same thing and/or I've noticed she's seen some "spectacular" place or toy on t.v. and then she utters those words. I just shake my head and tell her, "Listen, buying that or going there will not alleviate your boredom! You have a brain, use it! Get creative!"

As a child, I would entertain myself constantly with toys, books, etc. This has helped me in the long term as well.

Boredom is more a reflection of the person than the situation. Learned that in...9th or 10th grade. Kept it with me ever since because there was no denying the logic in that phrase. Apparently, it's not quite common sense though.
