Can someone tell me about Hanger 18?

I saw the movie a long time ago. Was it based on a real event?

Seriously, I used the search and didn't come up with anything. Surprising. I'm sure our crack team will know though.

Hangar 18 is supposedly the hangar at Wright Field (now Wright Patterson AFB), where the Roswell debris was taken to after the crash site recovery. I can't recall the movie too well, but at least the above is a supposedly true event. There is some documentation that supports this as well.

As for the events of the movie, since little is known about the sequence of events after the debris arrived there, I'd say anything other than the above was purely fiction.

OK, so the "ship/saucer" was taken there and the "alien bodies" to a base in Ft. Worth Texas right?

The bodies are another matter...there are wildly conflicting reports on this. Ft. Worth is one of them, and the most widely believed. We even have a record showing that this occured at around 4pm if I recall correctly, and loaded onto a B-29.

You must remember that Wright Field was the HQ for the US Army Materiel Command, so this makes sense that the debris went there (also remember this is before the Air Force was a separate service).

EDIT: You may also hear about a Hangar 84. This shouldn't be confused. Hangar 84 is where the bodies were while at RAAF (Roswell Army Air Field).

Hangar 18 is at wright pat airforce base underground. when you are on the base you can see many ventiliation shafts coming up from out of the ground.

I went to the official wright patterson air force base site and it says they are the home to the foremost aeronautical and aerospace research organization in the Air Force, the Air Force Research Laboratory. More like the back engineering research kings if they did actually have the ufo's there.

but yeah. i hear hangar 18 was a terrible movie, but its ties to Roswell and UFOs in pretty much UFO fact.
