I've heard of apostasy and I've heard of this myth where everybody is born Muslim, but I would have never have thought they would combine them both. Just when you thought you heard it all....

I stopped calling it a religion a long time ago. I'm not even sure it's a political ideology anymore. To me it's like a memetic virus thats gone out of control. These people are sick in the head.

The prophet Muhammed had many prophecies. The Bible says that if a man prophecies and that thing comes to pass that the man is a prophet. Joseph Smith prophesied that his temples built before the Mormons went to Utah would remain operational. They didn't. That the Mormons wouldn't need to cook their food. They still cook.

But Muhammed did prophesy about a battle and pointed to where each man would fall during the battle. Men forgot about the prophesy and when the battle occured they remembered the prophesy. Because the prophesy was accurate.

All rape supporters must f-ing hang. Especially Benny Hinn.

Spot on mate. Why America and Britain think they can solve the ME problem when they can't even put their own houses in order domestically is beyond me. If the west kept their collective noses out of other peoples business we may find things would calm down a little.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the oil in the ME and North Africa. Maybe this has a bearing!

Your actions are always justifiable when you are on defense. Unless other nations call us to their defense we don't have the right to put troops on the ground.

When Russia got invited to fight against terrorists in Afghanistan we called it an invasion and help arm Islamic radicals to take over Afghanistan.

Now I haven't read the entire thread, but it incited memories of Nuns raped and killed in Mexico several years ago...I'm not Catholic, not a follower of any mainstream organized religion, but Nuns...now that gets me. Because whatever anyone has to say about the Catholic Church and its' priests has never , to my knowledge, spilled over to the Nuns and their convents. So, I do have an extreme level of respect for these women who dedicate their lives to service of their God and their people....and that dedication alone makes them an easy mark to anyone who wants to make a violent and extreme statement...an easy pawn to play. I pray their God takes them quickly and rewards them richly.

More people has been killed in the name of religion than for any other reason in the world and in history.

I would challenge that assumption as the 60 million that died in WW I and WWII was not inspired by any religion. Of course, you could make the assumption that Naziism was a pseudo religion of some kind. Although it's framers and the inspired didn't really understand it-they kinda made it up as they went along.

Come to think of it it would be difficult to remove religion from any conflict. A claim that the American civil war was based on religious zealots is not that farfetched.

Upon reflection perhaps the statement is true after all-depending on how you define religion.

i suspect the death toll of christians is much higher, primarily because the removal of protestant or christian offshot religions like mormonism or jehovah witness, are often not reported as christian causalities. as a result, in many muslim nations that do have a christian population, it's usually just catholic being reported on under the term "christian" as all the other christian religions have long since been run out on a rail/murdered, etc.

Simultaneously, why is it that you apply a non-existent monolithic blanket to that entire religion?

There are also, and have been, "Muslims" who were woman-stealers, and they were not stealing them to employ them in painting houses. It's historical fact. Should we not acknowledge that as well? If we are to acknowledge that, should we then apply your monolithic blanket that ALL Muslims are "rape-supporters" and woman-stealers because some are, even now, and it HAS happened?

Taking the easy captives, the weaker ones, has always occurred in war, even WITHIN the same religious grouping when they take issue with one another. Catholics on Protestants. Sunni on Shi'a.

My birth certificate tells me I'm a catholic, and although I don't subscribe to any brand of religion, I can say that every nun I've ever met\known has been some kind of living saint. I've never known one to have a cross word about anybody - so for me, the idea that a group of nuns were paraded around and subjected to abuse by a group of Mohammedean savages boils my blood.

Christians and Muslims have been living side by side in Egypt for more than a millennia in relative harmony. These Islamist savages are taking advantage of the current chaos in Egypt to vent their hatred for those who dare to worship God in a way that differs from their own in a violent manner.

I hope the Egyptian government continues to stomp them out of existence, and restore some semblance of normalcy to that beautiful country. I've always wanted to visit some day.

You know, without being there I can't say what actually happened to the nuns in question. So I will just fall back on perspective. While they may have felt that they were being paraded as prisoners, what do they think might have happened to them had those armed men NOT escorted them out and to a different location, even if it seemed rough treatment at the time.
