:shk: This is what the Muslim Brotherhood and Morsi supporters are doing. Taking innocent Christian nuns who are minding their own business, and abusing them and parading them through the streets as prisoners of 'war'. The Franciscan school that the nuns taught at is looted and then burned down. And yet ... there are some who claim that the Muslim Brotherhood is 'moderate'. This is the group that the Obama administration supports. This is the group that John McCain supports. Disgusting.

Islamist Mob Parades Nuns in Cairo As Prisoners Of War

A mob marched nuns through the battle-torn streets of Cairo ‘like prisoners of war’ in the latest outrage against Egypt’s Christian minority. Sister Manal, principal of a Franciscan school in suburban Cairo, watched for six hours as a mob looted the building, knocked the cross off the gate and replaced it with a black banner resembling the flag of Al Qaeda.

The classrooms were then burned to the ground and the women taken away, attracting a crowd of abusive onlookers. Police told Sister Manal that the nuns had been targeted by hardline Islamists, convinced that they had given Muslim children an inappropriate education. ‘We are nuns. We rely on God and the angels to protect us,’ she said. ‘At the end, they paraded us like prisoners of war and hurled abuse at us as they led us from one alley to another without telling us where they were taking us.’

Siblings Wardah and Bedour, two Christian women employed by the school, also found themselves having to fight their way through the mob while being groped, hit and insulted by the extremists.

Oh I can't wait to see how the apologists for the Jihadi/terrorists explain this one. Parading nuns through the street as prisoners? How classy..... Maybe their women can be paraded around a few laps too.... Think they'd appeciate they 'turn about is fair play' aspect? I'm thinking they'd almost go postal over the mere story appearing..let alone confirming it had actually happened.

ooooo, tough guys! Nuns are dangerous and hard to catch.

This trend to acquiesce to the Muslin Brotherhood didn't start with Obama Administration though!

How the Muslim Brotherhood Infiltrated the GOP

He’s no moderate, but here he is (Muzammil Siddiqi) — selected of all Muslims to be the guy who’s the representative of that faith in the interfaith ecumenical memorial service three days after 9/11. Everybody who was anybody was there, including this top Muslim Brotherhood operative.

But that’s not enough. Here he is in the White House, a couple of days later, giving George W. Bush a Koran — in the course of which George W. Bush, for reasons I’ll get into in a moment, started saying things — not started, but repeated things like — the teachings of Islam are the teachings of peace and good. Repeat after me. Right? Well, that’s pretty much what he was doing.

It's awful, and i'm glad they were able to end the experience without serious physical harm and were not detained any further.

Given the horriffic violence and bloodshed in Egypt at present, it's actually "good news" that *only* two Christians have been killed as stated by the Daily Mail, not that it can be regarded as the best of sources, maybe more Christians have died. I would certainly expected more given the reports of so many buildings being raised to the ground - perhaps the God and Angels that the Nuns have put their faith in have proved potent after all.

Nope. It sure didn't. Obama just continues the tradition. (how's that hope and change, ya'll?? :shk

McCain is a man who has simply come to love war and death. He's become a sick and twisted old man with a real warped sense of purpose and priority. The more I hear that man all but openly call for war in multiple places right now, the more I wish Arizona would find SOME way to remove him from office before he helps get more people killed. Americans and others alike. I'm not sure HE even cares anymore. It's all guts and glory to him.

Everyone else's guts spilled, so he can feel glorious.

You don't need to be a religious individual to know this is a deplorable act.

Just another example of how religion overrides common sense and common decency..

As i thought about this more, and removed the hyperbolic Daily Mail and it's frothing mouth from the equation, i could not help but think of another possible headline... "Confused and distressed Nuns lead from burning building and escorted to eventual safety through mob as possibly thousands are killed"

Food for thought.

I'm sorry but the World would be a much better place without US intervention.

From Mubarak to Saddam to the Shaw, one can only imagine what the ME would be like without US supported and funded dictators.

OK, you guys know I get confused more easily than the average poster, so I don't feel so bad about asking.

What was the point? Why parade nuns around and burn down a school? They must have thought some good would come from it, but what? Does it make them look powerful? Rambo, Part 17, The Fist v. Sr. Mary Margaret.

Oh, and for the poster who said this is an example of religion, I most vehemently disagree. It may be an (increasingly common) example of the behavior of followers in one religion, but the brush used in making this claim about religion in general is too wide to even pick up.

Ya know, I was just thinking the same thing. He was a prisoner of war, yet he seems to be hell bent on giving us the message that it was no big deal. Where's the wisdom he should be showing?

I don't know what the point was for parading them around. The burning of so many churches and other Christian symbols is clear though and it's happened elsewhere in North/Central Africa in the recent past. That has two meanings. First, the M.B. believe they'll be back in power. That's obvious or none of thise would HAVE meaning except chaos and death for it's own sake. I consider them morally bankrupt and scum..but not evil in the sense that would require.

Second, and inline to #1? They want the Christians OUT. In no uncertain terms or vague meanings on ANY level, they are making it clear as crystal. In their mind, the sands of Greater Arabia and the North African nations are for the feet of true Muslims. Never shall an infidel's foot make impression in their scared soil....or so you'll hear the more vocal ones spout when they have a receptive audience.

The M.B. high leadership has the sense to keep that talk quiet...but that hardly extends to the lower toads in their little pond.

Didn't see one nun, guessing they've already been raped and beheaded.

I don't think so. The nuns watched for six hours as their school was looted and burned. And then the looters/arsonists kidnapped them and abused them ... parading them through the streets as war captives.

When I was a little kid, my mom told me there'd be a holy war that no one could escape.

Maybe she wasn't nuts, after all.

What has the US got to do with the Muslim Brotherhood burning down a Franciscan school and parading helpless nuns through the streets as prisoners of war?? Answer ... nothing. It's the Muslim Brotherhood waging war upon non-muslims. It's just that simple.

This is why I can not stop screaming that when it comes to Islam is law first and then a religion and as a law they regard their law of Islam as the supreme law of the land and will be no law that supercede that law, within the law they have the right to kill and torture any infidel, because in their law they are below them.

But is ok, is such thing as "moderates" something that is no recognized by the islam and nowhere to be found within their laws or Koran.

But for the Islam apologist they can sip the coo laid all day and keep their pink colored glasses because all religions are the same and the have one common goal.

They can kiss my latino butt.

Is ok to also know that congress had no problem sending our hard earned tax dollars at a tune of 5 billion dollars to support this type of terrorism in Egypt.

Obama should be soo proud of his brothers in arms the Muslim brotherhood.

And yes they claim that only 1.5 billion was send but the truth is that the money was already awarded.

We should need to be nice and tolerant also and support the Muslim March in DC on 9/11, because they feel that here in the US they are target of hate and need more rights and recognition.

What a joke, the conquest of the western is not going as schedule after all.

Trying to scare the Christians in that part of the world. Make them 'convert' to Islam ... make them understand that they are worthless in the eyes of the Muslim leadership ... scare them away so they'll leave? It's evil .. whatever their motives are.

She is a wise woman and very right, is been a religious war been going on for centuries and is not near to be over yet.

More people has been killed in the name of religion than for any other reason in the world and in history.

Dear Wrabbit2000,

All right, let me sit at the feet of the clear-headed one for a moment so I can get my head on straight again. (Oh, and pass me some of that lettuce, I missed lunch) This episode just struck me as senseless horror in a particular way, I'm not sure why.

First, the M.B. believe they'll be back in power. That's obvious or none of thise would HAVE meaning except chaos and death for it's own sake. I consider them morally bankrupt and scum..but not evil in the sense that would require.
Odds are you're right, but I remember some of the riots in the "civilized" US, which could go on for days. They were just demonstrations of hate and anger and violence, no political thinking. And those riots were without the tacit approval of the government.

It seems then, that when they talk about tolerance for other religions and a desire for peace, they could be taking one of two paths. Either they know they are lying, and are buying time in order to spread more death and destruction, or they somehow believe that tolerance for other religions involves killing its adherents. This latter path, of course, describes insanity.

As time goes on it seems more clear that force is the only solution. I really hate to say that, there have been too many deaths already, and war in general is a desperation play, but the options seem to be growing fewer.

I'll let you in on a secret, don't tell anybody. I have been hoping for many months that I could find a Muslim ATSer who appeared reasonable and willing to discuss this situation. I was hoping that a different culture would find an option that I don't see. It hasn't happened yet.

So, noble Wrabbit, dispense some wisdom, restore hope to this troubled mind. How the &^%#$, do we stop this lunacy? And you'll notice I didn't even bring up Israel or Russia.

With respect,
Charles1952
