yup, let's blame the poor....they are an easy target, no money, no power, no powerful "k" St. lobbies in Washington...and how has the republican house of representatives, and republican controlled state houses, tried to help?....cut education to the poor so they cannot get jobs, cut food stamps to the poor so they have to scamble just they have something to eat, cut medical care so any money the poor make from their minimum wage job can go to doctors bills, cut voting rights so they can't vote you out of office, cut housing credits so the poor have to live on the street or in slumlord digs...the motto of the republicans should be "blame the people that have nothing, and let the people that have everything off the hook"

I watched it all fall apart. And it started with America's manufacturing jobs being moved out the country.
My mom worked for Carnation and Friskies and retired at 55 yo. My dad worked for Quaker Oats until he was 58, my aunt, Mead. Another aunt, for Lee jeans. Almost everyone in my family worked some type of a factory job and was union. They made good money, had a good pension plan, and insurance. There was always over time available, and I remember my mom working all the time and bringing enough money home to put food on the table, pay bills, buy clothes, and still have some money left over to spend or go into savings.
We went on family vacations every summer. But I have not been on a vacation in almost 7 years. Our president is on them all the time.
The 80's and 90's were a prosperous time for my parents and extended family. When they look back on it now, they talk about how the money was good, and how they worry for the future of this country without these jobs. Even my soon to be in laws worked factory jobs and they had good money and are now living off a good pension and the nest egg they built over the decades.
They all had the "American dream". My dad sold his motorcycle in 1970 to put a down payment on a home. Their house payments were $75.00 a month. They all understand that this country is now economically and morally bankrupt and nothing has been left for their children. They see our struggles, and feel helpless and they don't know what to do. What do you do when your 35 yo daughter is barely making it in the world, has a college degree, works her butt off only to have to move back home? The American dream... the jobs, the freedom, the pride is dead.
My boyfriend, who has a BA in Computer Science works in a wood shop that employs around 150 people that started off full time, tedious labor, at $8 an hour. Obama care kicked in and that job went to part time, no benefits. No way to save, just living pay check to pay check, now paying off school loans and can barely pay rent.
We are both mid 30's, and putting off our wedding, our future, and our desire to have children because we can't afford it. We both want SO much more. I too, lost my full time job when Obamacare kicked in. I lost my insurance. I now have no health care. I now live pay check to pay check, and my school loans will come due soon as well.
If you haven't been wrapped up in Obama's "go back to college" bs, please don't. It's a lie. You won't find a job. Then in 6 months Sallie Mae comes knocking. It's a sham.
Getting back to what I was initially saying, our troubles really began when America lost our manufacturing jobs. The pride of the people in earning a living has been stripped away. In the city I grew up in, most everyone was prosperous because we had these jobs. One by one they went away, leaving the community with very little. And when the jobs are gone, what do they tell you to do? Go back to college, get a degree, take out massive student loan debt. I bought into the lie.
The way our children are educated now, they will be lucky to make through college. Dumb down the populace, stop teaching them how to write, and graduate them even if they cannot read. They are the cradle to grave welfare babies. I see them all of the time. They are dependent for life. They don't understand getting up each day and going to work. They do not care. They have a sense of entitlement. They drive better cars than me. They always have money for things. Then you have people who are the working poor, who have no other choice but to take assistance to make the ends meet.
It will only get worse with Obama care in full effect. People are going to get their wages and hours cut, or lose their jobs all together.
It is a struggle to stay off govt assistance, but it can be done. We are learning to network with family, friends and neighbors. Buying and selling, bartering, and food prepping. Under the table pay jobs. It can be done. It really can... and yes it is hard to make money and it requires more work and effort, but it can be done.
I think about how hard my parents worked, they were never a stranger to hard work. They never had to take welfare. It just was not done, not in our house. My parents are doing very well, and they know that my future is shaky. They cry about it and they worry that I'm not going to be OK but I will be, because they taught me how to live right and what is important.edit on 20-8-2013 by Taissa because: (no reason given)

from CA to FL to PA and back again ... it happens all over and not just with the illegals either.
heck, i just recently read a story where a northern group was busted for using their fraudulently acquired benefits to buy staple foods and then ship them to other countries
don't get me wrong, i'm not against helping those in need but what this group was doing had nothing to do with Americans in need.
linky
this statement really bothers me though ...which is hilarious when you think about it because many recipients don't have "homes" in which to use them
as the benefits are only meant for use in the home of the recipient
it's just more propaganda to shame those who have little, yet, are willing to share with those even less fortunate than themselves ... shame, shame on the AG spokesperson

So because we can't get our act together so as to become competitive again we should engage in nation destroying policies that utterly end progress and a people's self worth and independence .......
so by that same defeatist attitude that goes against the very spirit of the country , when we realize that there are too many people to be sugar daddy to we then should see how killing more than half of them is a good thing relatively speaking because its A SOLUTION ......a final solution which considers someones idea of "common good" instead of our nations choice of good. What do the people know anyways...
this school of thought doesn't deserve consideration .....they need to be ended. That is where every socialist extreme leads to for the opposition .....death squads...maybe we should beat them to the punch. History doesn't lie....

What is your solution oh great and wise one? All i am hearing is lie down and give up on life how did you make it in life this long without cutting your wrists or jumping off a bridge?
cheese and rice I need a healthy dose of sunshine to burn off all of your negativity.

Quotation: "If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered...I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies... The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."
