They all understand that this country is now economically and morally bankrupt and nothing has been left for their children. They see our struggles, and feel helpless and they don't know what to do. What do you do when your 35 yo daughter is barely making it in the world, has a college degree, works her butt off only to have to move back home? The American dream... the jobs, the freedom, the pride is dead.

My boyfriend, who has a BA in Computer Science works in a wood shop that employs around 150 people that started off full time, tedious labor, at $8 an hour. Obama care kicked in and that job went to part time, no benefits. No way to save, just living pay check to pay check, now paying off school loans and can barely pay rent.

We are both mid 30's, and putting off our wedding, our future, and our desire to have children because we can't afford it. We both want SO much more. I too, lost my full time job when Obamacare kicked in. I lost my insurance. I now have no health care. I now live pay check to pay check, and my school loans will come due soon as well.

If you haven't been wrapped up in Obama's "go back to college" bs, please don't. It's a lie. You won't find a job. Then in 6 months Sallie Mae comes knocking. It's a sham.

Getting back to what I was initially saying, our troubles really began when America lost our manufacturing jobs. The pride of the people in earning a living has been stripped away. In the city I grew up in, most everyone was prosperous because we had these jobs. One by one they went away, leaving the community with very little. And when the jobs are gone, what do they tell you to do? Go back to college, get a degree, take out massive student loan debt. I bought into the lie.

The way our children are educated now, they will be lucky to make through college. Dumb down the populace, stop teaching them how to write, and graduate them even if they cannot read. They are the cradle to grave welfare babies. I see them all of the time. They are dependent for life. They don't understand getting up each day and going to work. They do not care. They have a sense of entitlement. They drive better cars than me. They always have money for things. Then you have people who are the working poor, who have no other choice but to take assistance to make the ends meet.

It will only get worse with Obama care in full effect. People are going to get their wages and hours cut, or lose their jobs all together.

It is a struggle to stay off govt assistance, but it can be done. We are learning to network with family, friends and neighbors. Buying and selling, bartering, and food prepping. Under the table pay jobs. It can be done. It really can... and yes it is hard to make money and it requires more work and effort, but it can be done.

I think about how hard my parents worked, they were never a stranger to hard work. They never had to take welfare. It just was not done, not in our house. My parents are doing very well, and they know that my future is shaky. They cry about it and they worry that I'm not going to be OK but I will be, because they taught me how to live right and what is important.

My heart aches for our lands. The ONLY people against my preposition are those that, while deep inside they agree, they fear that their musical chair that they luckily stumbled into will be gone, I mean none want to be the poor, anything to avoid that..

So because we can't get our act together so as to become competitive again we should engage in nation destroying policies that utterly end progress and a people's self worth and independence .......

so by that same defeatist attitude that goes against the very spirit of the country , when we realize that there are too many people to be sugar daddy to we then should see how killing more than half of them is a good thing relatively speaking because its A SOLUTION ......a final solution which considers someones idea of "common good" instead of our nations choice of good. What do the people know anyways...

this school of thought doesn't deserve consideration .....they need to be ended. That is where every socialist extreme leads to for the opposition .....death squads...maybe we should beat them to the punch. History doesn't lie....

The folks with the real wealth in this world promote eugenics. It's true we don't need all those made up jobs and people, but they'd rather just kill off everyone but a few dolts to run maintenance on the machines then support everyone.

The simple fact is that so called development and progress can't go on forever, anyone who believes it can is either ignorant, doesn't care, or is part of the problem.

Capitalism is a fine and dandy way of growing a country, but some things have to change in order to maintain the environment and to maintain some type of system that doesn't utterly destroy entire segments of a country's population because they are born into a certain income class.

The potential for upward mobility has been proven not to be an option by scientific study and the study of history, anyone who tells themselves they can be whatever they want to be is a liar most times, living in a dream world, a fantasy land. Most people don't really have anything to offer which would allow them to transcend.

People coming into this world are treated like they are committing a crime for just showing up, giving people what they need isn't what is needed, options people have to work with need to be preserved. Even being able to go get what we need is becoming like some kind of sick game.

People need certain things, some people want nothing but to take advantage of that fact, and that's fine to a point, but only to a point.

A war is coming to distract us from this problem, that's pretty much always the way it goes.

It isn't about giving up. It is about having a system of prosperity for those so inclined, and a mediocre life for those wishing not slave away.

Owners? last time I checked I have no whip marks or any other marks from my "owners" I work for myself hell I make 3x more money now then I did working for a company very low overhead no deadlines and I can work in the buff if that isn't free I don't know what is.

I kind of feel sorry for you hopefully thing will work out for you.

Well, you're preaching to the choir as far as some go... "unfair" is the shorthand description for our fascistic capitalistic system of haves and serfs.

We think we have come so far from feudalism, but it just ain't so.

The people brainwashed by the seductive, Darwinist protestant work ethic just have a mental block when it comes to others who are suffering... and besides deprivation, there is actual hunger, disease and element caused suffering happening... and most of those suffering are not lazy takers despite the b.s. rationalizations based on fear and selfish greed. Working your whole life to the exclusion of basic human enjoyment is suffering, too. Not everyone loves, or likes, their job.

So many (if not all) of our serious problems are the result, directly, of this particular modern version of a capitalistic system based on planned obsolescence, overuse of existing resources and the accumulation of resources by a teensy-tiny fraction of the populace.

Or in kindergarten vocabulary, it's really, really unfair. Sharing is caring... and if we are going to pull through and prosper as a species, then things are going to have to change.

You are spot on in that the labor pool is huge and the competition for the crappy subsistence jobs will bring wages down to nothing... it's inevitable and happening already.

It has to dawn on people that things do NOT have to be this way. There are resources enough for all and the lifestyles and environments people can experience can be ...well, nice.

All we have to do is reach the tipping point of awareness to change our system. We can live without despoiling our environment or having to labor all our lives for table scraps. People will still have to work, but we can devise an equatable system where society's necessary work will only take up a small percentage of one's life.

It's not a pipe dream and the only thing stopping it are people themselves. Well... people and shape shifting demon reptoids according to some... sigh.

The only reality here is the one which is agreed upon by the majority, that majority being those who can buy the most votes.

Corporations recently convinced the courts to agree that inhibiting their being allowed to contribute any amount they please to political candidates was an infringement on their freedom of speech/expression.

Strike down Corporate personhood, reign in Corporate charters, disallow them to influence elections, and then things just might get better.

Oh yeah, reinstate Glass-Steagall to reign in the damned banks too.

I believe the only answer is ZERO Government based welfare for anyone. Zero food, zero clothing, zero shelter, zero healthcare, zero anything from the Government. The only thing the Government should provide is protection from the aggression of other countries and groups.
