Nerbal, the baby squirrel

Hoping that he'll make it through the night and the next day. The wife tried to figure out a way to have him sleep with us!

But if all goes well, there will be more pics.

Wow he is a little guy. Last week we found a little pink guy (only a bit bigger than Nerbal) on our deck. I was headed to get the stuff to nurse him when my son had the idea that he might have fallen from the Martin house the squirrels took over so he got on a ladder and put him back in it. Momma freaked and rocketed out the other side. She survived and I'm guessing the little guy is okay.

This was her second batch this year. The first one had three.

If you have a cat carrier that would make a nice, safe pad for him.

We do have a cat carrier, when we're sure he's on the mend, that's where he'll be. Thanks for the well wishes.

We don't have many squirrels in the area.
Jackrabbits, Cottontails, Quail..constantly. and one big fat Marmot.

Had to raise up a Cottontail once. Named him Stew, Just so i could say, "This is my rabbit Stew"
He made it, and we turned him loose with a couple that had pretty much a rabbit paradise on their back property.

Hope the little guy survives. We have squirrels in our garden and they get on with their lives and exist happily with our cat and all her 'mates'. I would hate to be without our wildlife.

It's 4 am here now. I just checked on him (insomnia sufferer, I )

He's sleeping still. Will start the feeding in about 3 hours.

Just a Nerbal update;

He is eating, talking, and very active today. We're working on keeping him warm and fed today. He's made good potty and was barking until he got his food.

Will get more pics later on.

I'd take a picture but the wife said no. . . currently Nerbal is resting on my wife's stomach, swaddled in a t-shirt taken from the dryer, covered with a blanket.
