As good an idea as these are, then its useless and null to go through these hoops, just making life harder for yourself. You can do certain things to prevent the tracking of your browsing, but stated above will do little, here is why.

None of the data collected right now is being used in any useful manner because there is no way to sort through and effectively sort all the data to make it useful at the moment.

However its comming, and not in the to far fututre:

Google’s Quantum Computer Proven To Be Real Thing (Almost)

Google recently acquired a Quantum computer, in the hopes of having it sort through all the Data on people and make it useful.

If successful no doubt the Government would provide the MASSIVE data dumps they have from Echelon, See the internet was built with Echelon integrated, so ANYTHING and EVERYTHING you do on the internet is intercepted and downloaded on a Data dump, currently however as with Google data, then its all useless, until they get the system to sort through it up and running.

But remember, the internet was a state sponsored affair, Echelon is a integrated part of the internet, everything you do on the Governments world wide net is monitored,

Namaste.

Some of you guys are paranoid as heck.

1: If for some reason you need to "go on the run" Throw your freakin phone out first and pay cash for like a virgin mobile under a fake name for 30 whoopin dollars...

2: The joy of them recording everything is that if your seriously worried about it you can paint any psychological profile you want of yourself over time and they'd run in circles looking for you

3: posting what you want people to know or let them know can be really good, you can do a lot of business via social networking, I mean really, maybe it's just kind of retarded to post anything you can't "explain" anyway... Like I come in here I have various interests, I do and don't care who knows... like to keep abreast of alternative news, it's no different than getting a second and third opinion on medical issues for example and realistically sometimes there is stuff to look out for, like the MSM doesn't mention fukushima much maybe, I want to know if I should avoid sushi from a certain area or ski for a while instead of surf... I understand that the Gov has a job avoiding panic, that they really can't even tell people sometimes until they have "scientific proof"... I also know I want a heads up on the "maybees" I'll gladly explain that to anyone who looks at my searches...

But then you have the guys who might be grown men getting emotional about an argument or a "maybe" and start spouting about shooting stuff up and crap... on the internet lol, is it awful those folks are "seen" No, not really they obviously lack severe SELF CONTROL

And that's it self control, for 99% of people really the biggest issue in this... is having talked about drugs and looked at sex they would hate to have seen in like divorce court or bsed about serious crimes in the past B4 they figured out it was sorta kinda talking in public...

And honestly, they want the info so bad...and they can't lock up everyone lol

So your seeing stuff like dope being moved to non prison offenses, weed being legalized, gay marriage sexual tolerance...

Because that's all 99% of us give a crap about... no one wants anyone to see they fapped to Tranny porn lol or get fired for that bong picture or whatever

so... duckduck go + tor + whatever else helps when u masterbate and it's highly unlikely the local fuzz will call in the NSA to get you for a gram of weed or your wifes lawyer will either...

Several years ago, there were news that terrorists were using quite ingenious means to hide their messages in photos and other forms of media and they post the photos with the encoded message in friendster (that was before facebook)

I think that should be enough of a clue that Big Brother is monitoring anyone and people who mean business (in an evil way though) are taking these things very seriously.

I think most of us would have anticipated this is coming and should have planned their use of internet accordingly!

All I can say is that I can't make heads or tails out of my life.
I hope Google/gov has better luck.
Maybe they'll tell me who I am.

(I advocate for privacy as much as anyone but the sheer volume of what they've collected would seem to negate using it in any useful manner other than targeted ads.)
Thanks NRE.

I just want to say that this is the most retarded thread that I have ever read. GET THIS! If you leave your information on a website, that website may retain that information! GASP!

Seriously, the same could be said about almost every website on the internet. What does GOOGLE know about me? Well... probably what I've told it.

This is hardly news. Why do you think they have an API which lets you log in to third-party sites? Why do you think there is Google Analytics and other tools? They know a lot more than what is being presented by the OP.

Truly Tech savvy people knew this from the beginning.

As for Android phones monitoring, I guess its a blessing the batteries are absolutely awful and couldn't track you all day if they wanted too.. Though in the future yes.

Also as far as Youtube searches go, OI for one welcome remembering the videos you watch as it is a feature as much as it is EVIL.

So google know I looked up how to make a pizza at 6.05am and then listened to Queen on Youtube and liked Scarface on Facebook. Such valuable information that.

If the internet scares you step away there is far more going on that you cannot see. FAR MORE.

All of this is tucked away somewhere in a end user policy. This is the price you pay for what they give you free. As the old saying goes nothing is free. The law can't touch them because they carefully word their policies so that once you sign up you have no rights. Their all in bed with Big Brother. The only thing that will change all of this is if the people demand change by force if necessary. Violence isn't the answer? Really? You all will be saying that right up to the very day you're all standing in a concentration camp waiting to get your throat slit by these same tyrant commies. It's amazing only a few out there can see that we've been hoodwinked. I don't care how many ways you look at it, a government that spies on it's people in secret is a tyrant. Then when they get caught red handed they claim it's for our protection. Jesus people wake the hell up. The US has been taken over.

Same here, use Google only if I have some type of trivia question
Do use the search engines mentioned by the OP. Haven't had a Gmail account since I heard quite sometime ago that they were reading e-mails, (I don't do anything wrong, but dislike having my privacy intruded upon) same reason:

I clicked onto the google dashboard and something weird under my 'document' folder...

It only showed 2 docs, and when I clicked onto it, it was a point pool sheet my sister made for the football season of 2011, claiming I modified it on 1/2/12.

Now then, here's the catch.
Never has my sister used this computer nor even seen it. We live in 2 separate states.
Never has she e-mailed me any thing to do with football either.
So WTH is her football point sheet doing under my history?

As creepy as this is, on the plus side i've found out that all the contacts I lost from my phone were still existing somewhere...

Don't much like the fact they know exactly when i've used my phone, seems they know more than I do, or the fact that if someone was to get my password for my gmail they instantly have access to all this stuff.

Should've forethought before buying an android phone, just have to look forward to ubuntu's mobile release and hope I can at least loosen the google grip.

I've revived this thread with current and relevant information:

I've had my jaded eye on Google for some time now. Eric Schmidt - who never misses the yearly Bilderberg elitists' meeting - made a stealth visit to N. Korea a few years ago, and a few month later, Il Jong was saber-rattling for war like mad. Or consider how Google has stealthily bought up a bunch of robotics companies, then abruptly dropped out of DARPA's Robot Challenge. Almost sounds like Google is trying to set-up a parallel culture - or government. Here's the latest:
