OOPS

Sorry, I mean...

Jesse Jackson Jr. sentenced to 30 months in prison!

www.chicagotribune.com...

WASHINGTON – Former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. was sentenced today to 30 months in prison plus three years of supervised release for misspending about $750,000 in campaign funds.

His wife, Sandi, a former Chicago alderman, is expected to be sentenced within minutes on a related charge.

Both Jacksons wept in court as they addressed the judge before sentencing.

Jackson Jr. apologized for his crimes and expressed special regrets to his mother and father.

“Your honor, throughout this process I’ve asked the government and the court to hold me and only me accountable for my actions,” he said.

To be honest, I'd much rather see Sr go down for his crimes against the American public...But I guess we will have to settle for the good son to take the fall.

3 years for spending money that people gave to you...

Wouldnt it have been enough if they had returned it?

Just another reason why we need campaign finance reform. I'm surprised more politicians haven't been caught with their hand in the cookie jar.

Can you believe the voters actually elected this mutt JUST in time for him to leave his office and face this? Why elect him at all?? It's crazy how this system works these days. Literally..I'm serious for those who didn't know. He was in the middle of this when elected in 2012...just over 8 months ago. :shk:

You can't make this stuff up.

One thing about politics and the justice system in America is that they are never as they appear to be. OJ Simpson finally went to jail for a murder he committed, but they had to send him there over some baseball cards and jersey.

I'm sure that family's crimes run deep, so whether or not it's over the money, there will be an appropriate penance here.

There's just something about a husband and wife fraudsters getting locked up simultaneously. I love it. And when they weep openly in the courtroom, well that just makes my whole day. Also, when they by association tarnish the rep of their clownish reverend father/-in-law, just magical.

So, how long before his father is all over the television, crying about how unjust the legal system was to his son?
Lord knows, he will use any excuse to be in front of the camera!

Actually, he just blamed it on bi-polar disorder over a live sat feed... you can't make that stuff up.

It's gotta hurt that your boy got busted, but come on Jesse, that's just lame.

We will probably see little of Jackson Sr about this. Doubtful he will want to be too conspicuous around the issues of law and fraud.

Is the judge white? If so he or Sharpton may hazard a tirade.

Guess he didn't learn well enough from his father how to get away with it. I am sure it is common practice to misuse campaign funds, getting caught doing it, not so common

And how long will it be before his father screams "RACISM"?

That's it... Only 30months...
I guess anything more and Senior would be pulling the Race card...

Seriously... 30months... For stealing funds.... Not like small amounts either... I'm utterly speachless

Something to add, if someone came to your house, knocked on your door, and they were real polite about it... You see, it was a poor young child who was diagnosed for cancer and she asked you for some money to help her treatment. Well... You find out a couple days later she spent the money on booze and cigarettes...

Another example, would be all the people currently locked up right now that never had the option of "just give it back", somehow, bank robbers are not given this option.

JJ Jr is a blithering idiot.

he was the infamous "Senate Candidate 5" in the Blagojevich scandal.

JJ Jr blew the loudest whistle when he gagged and said he "knew nuth'in'

they scapegoated him.

but since he's nuts anyway, it don't matter.

i think the sentences were too light.

the scapegoating might be payback for JJ Sr's insane comment about Obama too;

Sr. got caught 'open mic' saying about Obama: “talking down to black people,”

Payback's a mofo.

If you were asking to get an answer, it was actually three hours before your post.

Hard to tell if anyone is serious anymore...

When mommy and daddy went to the crybaby hospital to visit, they noticed, and I quote, "that he was the only African American person there".

I do wonder, though...

Who picked the hospital, and did he end up there before, or after, he got caught buying a Rolex with campaign funds.

The sauce just gets weaker every time they water it down.
