There's definitely a lack of faith and belief circulating many segments of the country right now. Pretty much anybody who is concerned with the debt (honestly concerned, not just lip service ala John Boehner et al) doesn't really see a viable exit strategy anymore. There are days when I think hitting the do-over switch is absolutely the best course of action to take and I don't see anything short of electing disasterpieces across the board as being a viable mechanism to reach that point.
