Actually I think there is major voter fraud in various states.

A link on the 2012 election.

Quotes

But then the reports of voting irregularities started leaking out, then gushing out – like the 59 different Philadelphia voting divisions in which Mitt Romney received zero votes compared to Obama’s 19,605. And the Cleveland precinct in which Obama beat Romney 542 to 0. (In fact, Romney received zero votes in nine Cleveland precincts.) And that’s just the beginning.

“Out of 175,554 registered voters, 247,713 vote cards were cast in St. Lucie County, Florida, on Tuesday”

“Colorado counties have more voters than people”

Most likely Obama won on voter fraud.

I understand what they're saying, but why does that make the law racist? The law applies to all people, black, white, purple, male, female, hermaphrodites, everyone equally. Why do they claim one race to be affected more than others by a law that affects everyone equally? The law even stipulates that the polls will be open for the same amount of hours as before, just more hours per day.

Because when you reduce early voting, you are effectively limiting the Black vote in particular. That is why it is targeted. Blacks are disproportionally represented in the amounts of early voting ballots cast. Mainly due to church sponsored services that help their congregants in getting to the polls.

Also would like to take a moment to point out that yes the ID required may be free. But that does not mean that the supporting documents are. And believe it or not there are still eligible voters that do not have a Birth Certificate at all. Others that simply would not know where to request theirs. Either way in essence you are creating a poll tax. Last time I had to go and get a copy of my BC it cost 25 dollars.

The thing I do like about these restrictive voter ID laws, is that it is driving even larger turnouts. Tell someone they can't do something and suddenly they are interested in making sure they can.

so instead of one national ID... there will be 50 State IDs and IDs for places like Puerto Rico, Guam and other USA colonies

the thing i got against my own State ID (in SC) is that the goofus at the DMV who issues IDs... would not accept the Federal Justice Department provided documents that showed my birth over in Germany and my Naturalization papers.

I had to provide the very oxidized and fragile documents for this former basket-weaving specialist from a state supported college program for the disadvantaged to try to handle without gloves no less...I had to insist that she put on the lavtex gloves before i handed her the documents..

what aloofness that tiny minded person had...and used to try & humiliate this guy....yeah i reluctently jumped thru hoops for this haughty public service employee...that one time

just where does this low level pencil pusher at the reception counter at a local DMV get to determine just what is legal evidence...on the spot

'cause, if i was not of obvious european heritage, then perhaps a wink & a nod might have been enough for another more closely akin 'cousin' to get multiple IDs from this person in control,

instead of the obvious spiteful treatment & possible refusal to issue a state ID to me at all..

the inmates are running the asylum, under the Øbama regime ... as i said before

I don't believe early voting was targeted to suppress the black vote, of course that's my opinion just like its your opinion that it was. Unless there are some facts to support your opinion we'll just have to agree to disagree. You and I are not guaranteed the right to vote early, only that we have the right to vote. As stated the early voting will still be available for the same amount of hours, certainly these church sponsored services can accomplish getting their congregants to the polls in the new time frame just as they did the old time frame.

As far as the requirements for getting an ID, perhaps they should challenge the requirements themselves instead of laws that require an ID. IDs are required to drive, to fly, to purchase firearms, to purchase alcohol and tobacco. Why are these groups not fighting those requirements also? They do not claim that those ID requirements are racist.

I am all for larger voter turnouts, if this causes more people to vote that is absolutely a good thing. No one is telling any citizens they cannot vote. They are simply requesting you bring ID with you, regardless of your race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation.

Oh shut up. You need an ID to get on a plane, rent a car, pick up a prescription, rent an apartment, go on a cruise, and on and on and on. And if a person cannot afford one the states give them out free of charge. Ensuring that no one has their legitimate vote disenfranchised by someone not allowed to vote is very important, and the SCOTUS has said voter ID laws are Constitutional.

Save the Nazi-baiting tactics, that's a non-sequitur fallacy.

You left out a tiny detail.

The SCOTUS ruled that voter ID laws are Constitutional and deny no one their civil rights.
