Thanks Phage, that gives me enough info to know it would be worth tinkering with.
I was looking at a system online, it's around $500 for the setup, but produces 3liters
a hour of hydrogen, which should be more than enough to power a small engine,
the trick would be to tune it down so there is very little reserve super small tank as in
oz size before it hits the motor and burns, so it's producing just enough, not not enough to
worry about explosion from to much stored up. But that should be no big deal, just a matter
of adjusting things.
Ok, this will be a project for this winter for sure. Just have to convince the wife its a good
investment. *LOL*.
I see he was using aluminum instead of 316 steel, from what i've seen the steel last a lot
longer and takes a long time to corrode. But his set up is a interesting idea.
babybull24, ya going boom is one draw back, but if the only supply or excess is limited,
it shouldnt be a problem, i would not want any size of storage of it thats for sure, more
along the lines of it produces just enough to run the motor.
ShadellacZumbrum i have thought about a motor such as that, and have a few ideas of
putting one to use, but i was thinking more along the lines of a power source you could
easily get supplies for, not needing to go into the woods and risk being seen.
I do have a pile of wood for the stove, but wood has a tendency to give you away with
the smoke trail. Kind of hard to be inconspicuous with a plume of smoke coming from
the top of the house. I was thinking more along the lines of a way for power that could not
be seen by others, or leave a heat trail for our govt to use infrared to track down.
i would think a small hydrogen generator inside would give off no traces of anything for
others to locate you.
