That's funny, because back when I was in high school I got into a tussle with a black kid, and it was my second offense, his first, and I was given in-school-suspension (ISS) for a day, while he was sent home for 3 days. I'm arguing this point so vigorously because I've seen it happen, and even back then I was appalled.

Very true..I got into it with my friend "black kid" 9th grade"93",and got the best of him.Guess what?I got suspended for the rest of the day,while he got a day,and a half..

Suddenly schools teach children to behave instead of parents? That's not right despite race. What happened to parent/teacher conferences? There should be real consequences for misbehavior in class other than a 2 day suspension. A 2 day suspension is like a vacation for a child.

I have a 4 1/2 year old. When he started preschool it was made clear to me if he bit someone, he was kicked out. Why doesn't that apply in elementary/middle/highschool? Make the parents take some responsibility and screw what Obama says.

I got my a** whooped for misbehaving when I was a child. Not that I agree with abuse or corporal punishment but there should be some real consequence for misbehavior that isn't a "vacation" from school. More school work, summer classes, being held back a grade.

This is unnecessary and just worsens the problem of parents not doing their jobs.

Then again, in this economy, how can parents do their jobs when both have to work and leave the child in the care of strangers who are spread so thin from preschool on that they cant give the individual attention they need?

This isn't about blacks or whites, its about a feminist agenda that ended up screwing the development of children to a disgusting degree.

Obama only has 1 Performance Objective for 2012 - 2014 and he is trying very hard to exceed that objective.

I don't defend or support him. I am ashamed of what feminism has done to the family structure and the development of children. I suggest you all stop being distracted by racial division and start focusing on what is truly important, the values we lost with the feminist movement. I don't care if it's the father who stays home or the mother who stays home. Someone needs to be there who isn't in charge of 20 kids at a time to discipline the child the way it used to be before this sorry excuse of daycare to highschool.

No parent has time anymore to raise children like they did in the 40's-70's. This all comes down to feminism which I am absolutely convinced was created by a man who cared not to work. See the forest despite the trees people.

You got a man? No welfare. The gov't is now the husband and father for the children. And this goes right into Bill O'Reill'y's point about single motherhood and the broken black family being the root cause for the dysfunction of modern day blacks.

I have often thought that the USA was being dismantled from inside.

I don't see why this would need to be race based and it's probably a bad idea regardless. Not long ago the discipline of children was much, much harsher than anything today with canings and such. I'm not sure if the results of these changes indicate that being even more lenient is the solution to the problems we have today.

If you go into the prinicpals office for getting into a fight, then proceed to call the prinicpal a moron and tell him/her that you will do what you please, you will get a much harsher punishment than someone who just takes it, keeps their mouth shut, and leaves.

The focus is disgustingly on BLACK SINGLE MOTHERS. As if they are the only single mothers.This stereotype has existed for YEARS. I was a single mother for a long time and I am VERY white and VERY strict with my child. If I am blessed with another one he/she will be homeschooled.

Remember the thread about the boy pulling up the little girls pants because her bottom was showing? He got sued for that ( I think? Or the parents did?) and now they are pulling this crap?

Stay home with your kids. One of you. Or extended family. Speak out about how tweaking the family structure and economy can prevent all of the problems in the current news recently ( developmental disorders, misbehavior, drug use, gang violence and participation ) things have changed because the standard of living and raising children has changed thanks to our fabulous economy and WOMENS RIGHTS.
