I came across the following today and feel it's well worth sharing to try and get some awareness going, feel free to share-

From David Icke-

Tens of millions (at least) are already enslaved in a similar bind throughout the Far East and other centres of the sweatshop culture, but now it is moving in big-time on the ‘free and liberal’ West as systematic economic deprivation is instigated to bring the masses to heel.

Zero hours contracts insist that people be available for work without any guarantee that any will be offered and nor are they allowed to work for anyone else while they are on this permanently unpaid ‘standby’; there is no holiday or sick pay; they can’t rent or buy a home because they cannot prove a regular income; and anyone who complains at their treatment is open to be punished by being denied working hours in favour of those who keep their mouth shut.

It is slavery, nothing less.

But governments love it because (a) it is crushing the masses just as their masters demand and (b) it hides the true level of unemployment with zero hour slaves officially counted as working even when they are not.

The Resolution Foundation, which campaigns for those on lower incomes, revealed that people on zero hours contracts are also paid far less for the same work when it is available than those employed full-time – an average of £236 per week compared with £482 ...

... The movie The Hunger Games symbolised the world as it is planned to be with a small mega-rich living in hi-tech luxury in the ‘Capitol’ while the mega-poor masses served their masters from fenced-off ‘sectors’ or districts specialising in different tasks and duties with this status quo perpetuated and protected by a vicious police state. If anyone still can’t see that this where we are heading so fast today they are not paying attention.

The daily slavery and constant expansion of zero hours contracts is a highly significant step along this dark and despicable road.

Just to provide some further info on this subject-

90% of McDonald's workers are on Zero Contract Hours

McDonald's has emerged as potentially the biggest zero-hours employer in the private sector after admitting that it employs 90% of its entire workforce in Britain, or 82,800 staff, on the controversial terms.

Welcome to the future, look how much humans have 'evolved'. Mother nature made us into slaves! She made 1% of the human population clever enough to control the other 99%. Whilst the 99% were busy evolving such feelings as empathy, the minority realised they could manipulate the majority through expoliting their fears, notably with their creation of that thing called 'money'.

But don't worry, it is just the 'natural order', there is no conspiracy or higher power acting. It's all just part of natural selection- apes evolved into 'intelligent' human beings so they could be manipulated and controlled by their fears by a minority elite'. Or maybe, just maybe, there is more going on than nature alone can explain, but then I suppose that is crazy 'conspiracy talk'...

Wow, I feel sorry for you guys in the UK with these contracts. Those are downright criminal and it's no surprise that a company like McDonald's would utilize something like this... I'd say that American politicians could never get away with allowing these things into the U.S. but I'd be lying to myself. Because I see it entirely feasible that these things would be allowed here...

All I can say is when looking for a job (and I know this is tough for someone who has been looking for a while) Do not accept one of these contracts as terms for your employment. Keep looking. Also try to boycott (again a tall order, but in this case it's McDonald's it's not like it's healthy for you) any business that uses these things widespread. I already boycott Walmart, it just takes self-control to avoid these evil corporate giants.

These things exist here too (in the U.S), it's not called a contract, the terminology has been manipulated into "Terms and Conditions". Terms and Conditions are contracts once you agree to them.

I have passed up several jobs because they demanded a certain amount of time commitment on my part, which becomes a work contract once one agrees to it, I always consider the consequences of anything over time, what if the job just wasn't something I could stand doing for a set amount of time?, I end up paying them an early termination fee?, like with a cell-phone agreement?, by their slandering me in their repository of bad slave records?, yup, credit report.

It's only a small step before one doesn't even get paid if an employer makes a spurious claim of dis-satisfaction with one's on the job performance. People die and their memories die with them, history repeats itself for that exact reason.

Ignorance abounds..........
