Just looked over at the scanner to see if anything was going on in the world and noticed that there were over 4,000 listeners for New York. (Normally it's under 200). All the info I have is what is posted on the alert, which is a man with a rifle on a roof threatening to shoot into a theater. I haven't been able to find any MSM reports on it yet, not even just an initial little blurb about it, but it is happening right now.

They just said it appears he has a sniper rifle and they are setting up a staging area at a high school

I caught it on the scanner also, but I cant find much info anywhere else strange.
they just said they have his girlfriend down with the police.

Police Cutting lights in buildings. It appears he is inside one of the buildings right now and police say he is very agitated.

Thanks. They were talking about him having a "Sniper rifle" when I first came on so its good to know that they don't think he is armed.

They also just named the theater as the Flix

Probably just means it has a scope, so it could be a 22 for all we know

That might be how TPTB want folks to classify scoped weapons... however..

is the key term, and the definition is focused on the individual... the rifle aspect just happens to be what tool they are using illegally, and it doesn't necessarily need to be scoped...


The person is the sniper, in the term sniper rifle.... IMO...
