1000 year Jail sentence!! ... Really?? What's the point?

A real harsh sentence wouldn't be a swift bullet but a life long working their butt off doing a crappy job for 12+ hours a day until they pop off...sometimes the cheaper option is the easier option for the prisoner and who wants to give them they easy way out when you can watch them breaking rocks etc for 12 hours a day knowing they're suffering

Still he gets free housing and free food.

...again paid for by the good ol American populus.

I would think a savage beating then a cheap bullet. Neither of which costs a lot.

i'm sure there is someone out there that can arrange his immediate start to the 1000yr part of the sentence.

Prison is for rehabilitation. If there is no chance at that, and if the crimes committed are serious enough for it, why not simply go to execution? Just common sense folks....

At 50, and after getting away with what he did for 10 years, can anyone really argue there is a chance of rehabilitation? No, of course not. Just a waste of tax dollars to feed and care for this guy for more decades.... End it.

I agree... Yet there is some sense of justice knowing this guy will rot in a cell for the rest of his life...

Though it IS rather disgusting that the citizens of the country has to pay for it

Personally im still in favor of the "kick in the stones once a day" stipulation

To tighten the relations between the US and Russia it would maybe a good idea to start a prisoners exchange program. Sent US prisoners to Siberia for a change...100 years of the 1000 to start with..

Such a program with countries with the worse prisons in the world could follow soon....
