Any fans of Minutemen or firehose out there? I need a suitable nomination from that band.

Personally,

ragin' full-on

is my favorite album from those guys. I'm having a hard time picking one track from ragin' full-on that would be the best conspiracy-themed song.

One of the tracks on ragin' full-on is called "Another Theory Shot to #".
Another Theory Shot to Sh*t - firehose
It has some lyrics to it with a clever ending "Vote??? Ah hah hahahahahahahahah" which could be interpreted as cynically knowing that the "votes" are in various ways laughable.

Songwriters: WATT "Another Theory Shot to #"

From the hand of a government man
Came these papers
Came these signs
Came these good things
From this machinery hums come
Oiled and whirling
Fast, strong
Tightness, meshing
Meshing forever
(pert near)
Steel gear inside gear
A
Nd smoothness
Engaging, releasing
Lapping and plunging
Then
Slow
Down
To
Vote?
Ah hah hahahahahahahahah
Vote

Thanks for posting. Subhumans are one of those bands that I always heard about but never quite get around to listening to. You know what I mean? This 16+ minute track was a great introduction to the band. Brilliant stuff.

some lyrics that caught my attention:

And when you end up on the dole which you very likely will
They'll offer you a brand new trade: Learning how to kill

Why don't you join the army? Be a man and not a fool
There's someone else to think for you just like there was at school

I was surprised when I first learned who Jim Morrison's father was. That really make one wonder about a lot of things. Great idea for a thread.

There are many possibilities when it comes to Doors songs, but these are the ones I like:

4 Billion Souls by the Doors

One, two, three, four billion souls are gonna rest If all our friends don't try their best
To change the way this world is headed for
We can find our hapiness It aint so hard to find Just look a little further up the line
Just a little further up in time
Don't you see that we could be the first in history
Leavin' all that we don't need behind
We could clean it up and make it shine

This one has great lyrics.

The Doors
An American Prayer / Hour For Magic / Freedom Exists / A Feast Of Friends

Welcomed,
It would be great to turn this into a punk rock thread (80% of which is political/conspiracy related)
but, must stay on topic;

It's going to be tough to select the best Doors song for a Top 20. There are actually a lot of Doors songs that could have a conspiracy context.

I sort of like "You're a Lost Little Girl" because it decent bass intro and lyrics which echoes the lyrics of The Who's "Who Are You?" ,

You're lost, little girl
You're lost, little girl
You're lost, tell me who are you?

So we have The Who and The Doors asking "Who are you?" ... probably a common theme in 1960's psychodaelic music tracks.

Another Doors song I like would be "Not To Touch The Earth" which sort of has the vibes of an apocalyptic anthem.
"Let's Run! Run With Me!" and he's talking about the mansions, rich comforts, and "you won't know a thing 'til you get inside".

"you won't know a thing 'til you get inside".

Just FYI for some people who have posted videos with the wrong tags and It's pretty easy to fix that.

When you post a youtube video using [yvid] tags you must to remove everything except the youtube video i.d. which is the 10-11-12 random string at the end, like this:

9c1Ql0sFGgA

You need to put the opening tag followed by your the random string.
Then you put the closing tag.

Last one, think I've filled my quota in this thread. I could post tons more but I'll show some restraint.

What happened here?
The butterfly has lost its wings
The air's too thick to breathe
And there's something in the drinking water.
The sun comes up
The sun comes up and you're alone
Your sense of purpose come undone
The traffic tails back to the maze on 101
And the news from the sky
Is looking better for today
In every single way
But not for you

World citizen World citizen

It's not safe
All the yellow birds are sleeping
Cos the air's not fit for breathing It's not safe
Why can't we be Without beginning, without end? Why can't we be?

World citizen World citizen

And if I stop
And talk with you awhile
I'm overwhelmed by the scale
Of everything you feel
The lonely inner state emergency
I want to feel
Until my heart can take no more
And there's nothing in this world I wouldn't give
I want to break
The indifference of the days
I want a conscience that will keep me wide awake

I won't be disappointed
I won't be disappointed
I won't be.

I saw a face
It was a face I didn't know
Her sadness told me everything about my own
Can't let it be
When least expected there she is
Gone the time and space that separates us
And I'm not safe
I think I need a second skin No, I'm not safe
World citizen World citizen
I want to travel by night
Across the steppes and over seas
I want to understand the cost
Of everything that's lost
I want to pronounce all their names correctly

World citizen
World citizen
I won't be disappointed
I won't be.

She doesn't laugh
We've gone from comedy to commerce
And she doesn't feel the ground she walks upon
I turn away And I'm not sleeping well at night
And while I know this isn't right
What can you do?

He's talking about a girl in this song. Now, replace 'girl' with 'amerika' or 'obama' or 'cia' 'TPTB' what have you.
