I can't imagine they would give acid to soldiers in the field. They would be crazy inefficient and probably wouldn't fihht. The tastes with soldiers back in the day didn't go as they'd hoped.

This one applies nicely to the US lamestream media

Oh and speaking of Don Henley, THIS one - "Inside Job" is a really good one, imho

can only find it on Vimeo

vimeo.com...

Inside Job

While you were sleeping
They came and took it all away
The lanes and the meadows
The places where you used to play
It was an inside job
By the well-connected
Your little protest
Summarily rejected
It was an inside job
Like it always is
Chalk it up to business as usual
While we are dreaming
This little island disappears
While you are looking the other way
They'll take your right to own your own ideas
And it's an inside job
Favors collected
Your trusted servants
Have left you unprotected
It was an inside job
Like it always is
Just chalk it up
To business as usual
You think that you're so smart
But you don't have a #ing clue
What those men up in the towers
Are doing to me and you
And they'll keep doin' it and doin' it
And doin' it and doin' it
And doin' it and doin' it
And doin' it and doin' it
Until we all wake up
Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up
I know what I've done wrong
I am acquainted with the night
I know how hard it is
To always walk out in the light
And it's an inside job
To learn about forgiving
It's an inside job
To hang on to the joy of living
They know the road by which you came
They know your mother's maiden name
And what you had for breakfast
And what you've hidden in the mattress
Insect politics
Indifferent universe
Bang your head against the wall
But apathy is worse
It's an inside job
It's an inside job
It's an inside job
Yeh, yeah
It's an inside job
It's an inside job
It's an inside job
It's an inside job
It's an inside job
It's an inside job

Bit of offensive language in this one, pretty self explanatory and includes a Bill Hicks sample or two.

a sick, sick remix of this song... www.youtube.com...

- War Pigs by Black Sabbath
- All Along the Watchtower by Hendrix/Dylan
- Exodus and other songs by Bob Marley

Also one of my all time favorites is at the youtube link in my signature.

Those are a few that come to mind at the moment.

But now I really must sleep.

Yet US soldiers in Viet Nam used to use '___' (I'd imagine in relatively small dosages) to remain awake, because it also is a stimulant like speed.

For that matter, the military used to, since WWII at least, and likely still does, give troops speed/metamphetamine in order to stay awake. What do you think those armored cavalry troops were doing to stay away for their 5-day-straight drive to Baghdad? Red Bull and java ain't going to cut it. But hey, the military uses paid medical professionals to keep their troops hopped up, so it's ok, right?

Found the song I mentioned earlier. Seriously scope it, great lyrics.

Sample of the lyrics:

We're selling addictive, twenty-four hour candlelight vigils on TV.
Freedom will be defended at the cost of civil liberties.
The viewers are glued to television screens, stuck,
'cause lots of things seem too sick.
I use opportunities to pluck heartstrings for theme music.
I'll show you which culture to pump your fist at,
which foot is right to kiss.
We don't really know who the culprit is yet,
but he looks like this.
We know who the heroes are,
they're not the xenophobes who act hard.
We taught that dog to squat,
how dare he do that # in our own back yard.
They happen to scar our financial state,
and char our landscape.
Can you count how many times so far I ran back the same damn tape?
While the cameraman creates news and shoves it down our throats,
on the west bank, with the ten second clip put on constant loop to provoke US angst.
So get your tanks and load your guns and hold your sons in a family huddle,
'cause even if we win this tug of war and even the score,
humanity struggles.
There's a need of blood for what's been uncovered under the rubble;
some of them dug for answers in the mess,
but the rest were looking for trouble.

Maybe outside of the jungle, but Vietnam was a mess. I would say acid wasn't very common, marijuana and heroin of course were huge problems over there.

I was replying to someone insinuating (as I interpreted it) that they were given acid intentionally.

Here's a brief list of conspiracy-related songs:

1. Soul Coughing - "Unmarked Helicopters"
"Unmarked helicopters
Hovering
They said it was a weather balloon

But I know the truth
I know the whole shebang
I know the names of men they had to hang."

2. Bob Dylan - "Only A Pawn In Their Game"

"The deputy sheriffs, the soldiers, the governors get paid
And the marshals and cops get the same
But the poor white man's used in the hands of them all like a tool
He's taught in his school
From the start by the rule
That the laws are with him
To protect his white skin
To keep up his hate
So he never thinks straight
'Bout the shape that he's in
But it ain't him to blame
He's only a pawn in their game."

3. Bad Brains - "Big Takeover"

" All throughout this so-called nation, prepare yourself for the final quest. This world is doomed with its own interrogation, just another Nazi test!

Yeah, The Big Takeover yeah-ah-, My, the big Takeover yeahh-yeah-yeahhh. "

4. Ill Bill - "Society Is Brainwashed"

"November 5th, 2001, less than two months after 9/11 occurred
The infamous William Cooper was murdered
Ex Naval Intelligence Officer, but now author of Behold A Pale Horse
He paid the cost
I can't say that I agree with everything that he wrote
But I admire him for speaking his mind though
Never holding his tongue for nobody, our society is brainwashed
Guns in each others faces for the same lies
Same everything and same nothing
Same bull# materialism, the Third World man's luxury
This false flag #ery, an AIDS infested junky
Your Lady of Liberty can't # me
Can't touch me, the black pope, superior general
Tim Osman riding like a Piru from Inglewood
Bring the hood up to a hovering mother ship
They already made the switch to the One World Government."

This song is from a fellow ATS member, one of the best conspiracy themed songs i've heard in my life.

Cheers!

Thanks for the thread and the nice selection of various music helping to deliver a message to the people.

It had been a while since I rocked out to some Rage against the Machine or System of a Down and turned it up on the loud speakers as soon as I got home

@ Hazz – when I first started reading this thread this morning at work, I was thinking to myself, “I wish I was at my laptop so I could post some Lupe or Ab-Soul.”

Canibus – Secrets Amongst Cosmonauts

Mos Def & Immortal Technique - Bush Knocked Down The Towers

As an artist myself, I have a Conspiracy themed song in the works, but still working on a suitable beat for it.

I can contribute this track I did a couple months ago.

On the cover of a Jeru the Damaja album called 'The Sun Rises in the East' he has a picture in the background of what look like the twins towers on fire. The album was released in 1994.

This youtube vid shows it, not to mention this is one of his more classic tracks (imo).

Give due to one of the old masters, KRS One.

Speaks for itself.

That's gotta be Top 10, in my humble opinion. And it was released in 1970, the same year Nixon invaded Cambodia on live TV.

Following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, the song was placed in the list of post-9/11 inappropriate titles distributed by Clear Channel. The intro to the song also features an air raid siren. Source Wiki

We got your phone tapped, what you gon do
Cause sooner or later, well have your whole crew
All we need now is the right word or two
To make all it stick like glue, then you through
We got your phone tapped, what you gon do
Cause sooner or later, well have your whole crew
All we need now is the right word or two
To make all it stick like glue, we got you

Have you seen the Laurel Canyon Conspiracy Thread? Interesting thread about music and conspiracies.

www.abovetopsecret.com

Anyone who is interested in music and conspiracies might enjoy reading it.

The idea of that conspiracy is so completely insidious and totally evil... I feel sorry for Jim Morrison (and otheres) who might have been murdered for getting "too close" to the truth in the 1960's.

It should probably be a requirement on this site to know that Jim's father was a Navy admiral at the Gulf of Tonkin.

James Douglas "Jim" Morrison (December 8, 1943 – July 3, 1971)

Morrison died in Paris, France, a city known for many peace conferences in the past, but here there had been ongoing start/stop peace negotiations between the US and Viet nam concerning the war since 1968.

... anyway... that leads to the inevitable question : Which Doors songs should be nominated for this best conspiracy list? So many good possibilities!
