NFL season is almost here! Who wants to play the ATS pick game?

Hello everyone,

For the past few years we had a little game called 'ATS NFL picks thread.' It started out as moderators vs members but last year it was more of a free-for all.

I was wondering if anyone would be up for that again. I know last year the turnout was a bit low because no one knew about it. So in that regard, I want to know if anyone is up for it again this season.

How does it work?

Take a look at last season as an example.

ATS picks contest

Basically you pick teams that you think are going to win. whoever wins, those are counted as your weekly final scores.

After the season is over, whoever has the most points wins.

If you start it, I will play. I can't promise I will stay focused enough to make it every week, but I will try.

And that would be good for everyone else. Just pick opposite me and you will likely walk with the trophy.

I enjoyed playing the last couple of years. I didn't do the greatest, but I wasn't the worst, lol. you can definitely count me in for another year.

Ha! thats awesome. who doesn't get creepy watching women's volleyball.

but back to football. i don't follow(i only follow MLB), but my co-workers seem pumped about the Seahawks. but that's how they are about the Mariners during spring training. i guess we'll see after the first week because that's when they usually give up on the season. Seattle is one of the worst fair weather cities ever.

But even though i don't follow i still gotta support my home town team. My pick would have to be the NY Giants. I was a big fan back in the Bill Parcells/ Phil Simms days.

Friday morning bump

off a quick count, so far we have 9 in's. I am going to guess there are more. I know a few lurkers waiting to jump in when it starts.

But we always have those friends who say they are going to go to your party but never show up so I am going to leave this thread up a bit more before I make the decision to run it. Ill give it until next Friday.

I'm going to switch back to sportscenter and mike and mike just in case you do start this up. I need all the help I can get. I watch a lot of football, but rarely do well with picks.

no trophy. If anything, winning would give you a license to trash talk or give you bragging rights for the week.
