If it were me .. I'd want my parents to tell me. If they waited until I was an adult, I'd understand.
But I'd still want to know. So I have to treat my child the same way I'd want to be treated.
I would definitely try to locate family members. What harm could it do except bring the two families into a long close friendly relationship. Not to mention, some comfort to the family and the young child.
I definitely would want to know if a family member who I lost was reincarnated. Not only would it be a comfort to me and my family, but it would be very interesting to know what all he or she remembered.
Answer to question #1: I would conduct a personal investigation and see if the members of the reincarnated person's previous social circle were interested in exploring the possibility. If no, then I would cease my investigations and quell the reincarnated person's urges for their own good. If yes, I would then slowly and gently arrange a meeting through which they would explore and verify the truth of the matter. Things would slowly and gently continue from there.
Answer to question #2: I would, but I would also limit my interaction. They have a new life now, and I don't want to burden any new lives with the trials and regrets of past lives. There's a reason most of us don't remember our past lives. We wouldn't be able to cope.
Good point! Well, it IS television...if they used cases related to unknown events, viewers might be less interested, ya know. It's all about advertising, in the end.
Funny how they only found people who died in well known events . no ?
Can a soul fragment into many souls where they experience new aspects of themselves as they are create?
Of course it wouldn't explain everything about how it worked and what happens, but it would start my belief into something again instead of just waiting for answers like I do now (I'm agnostic).
Im not sure. Ofcourse i would want to speak to my loved one again but at that same time it would mess with my head. Could you imagine looking at a totally different person and love them the same? You might think you would but the truth is your brain works in funny ways and perception is the central cpu so to speak of your mind. Your mind can only handle what it can perceive and it would be hard to grasp that concept, not to mention how everything you thought about death would be thrown out the window and your world would be turned upside down... thats a lot to handle you might not believe it just because you dont want to.

S&F great op I really support reincarnation as I had past life memories also flash backs of my past life in the burning times when the church were burning the pagans. I do believe that we have all been reincarnated so many times but our memories are wiped for our new life.
just as you get to like them you get a knock at the door!
Yes, that is what I believe as well...but I also believe some souls are older than others, and some eventually cycle out, once they've learned the lessons. I do think it takes many lifetimes, as another member pointed out - one is too short to absorb everything!
you dont just reincarnate one time.
you have been doing it for thousands of years.
I'm more of the "once a human, always a human" type of reincarnationist. I don't think we come back as "bugs" or "grass" - although I've heard that whales and dolphins are the final stage before reunion with the divine.
you have even been animals.
who do you think you love some animals and not others?
This is the danger, yes...what if you hated THEM? I've had a few experiences of instant "wariness" or "intense dislike" on meeting some people...but that uncanny feeling of having "known them all your life", even when they SEEM to be a total stranger - well, that's hard to overlook.
then there are people who have hated you.
do you seen now why you can not remember them.
How many times have you woke and remembered a dream, yet a few hours later you can't remember it anymore?
I have no idea if the show is fake or not, but I thought I'd mention that.
To answer your question, I believe in spiritual truth and would explore it. If a child was too freaked out to handle it, or if their previous parents were too rattled by it, I'd drop it. Of course, I'd still be thinking about it and trying to make sense of it myself. That's just the way I am: curious, passionate, optimistic and desiring for a growth of spiritual awareness for myself and the world around me. My instinct would be to explore it, but my morals and logic would tell me to do so respectfully and cautiously.
There would be mass suicide if everyone thought we could come back as somebody else ..... why live in poverty when you could kill yourself - come back with your knowledge - and further educate yourself whilst living a new llife ?
Untill i see that kid flying a plane i cant bring myself to believe this .
But to use my child as the means to prove to my greedy satisfaction that I/we continue on beyond physical death seems like a bad idea.
If reincarnation is real (and to be clear I believe in it,I just do not know it to be true) maybe we are not suppose to remember for a reason.
But I sure do wish I could know.
Haven't read this... no, it's an evil spirit that can speak like the loved one. The spirit that knew the loved one, and was with the loved one. Did you know it's a war ....the worldly view puts spirit at a small bit in this reality, but there's a major war going on in invisible evil places. ( they get their azz handed to them in the end )
I'm under the impression that, like a hard drive, the soul's memories are removed before it goes to a new body. I guess this allows a...cleaner and more focused life.
What's the point in talking about reincarnation, really? Its most appealing properties are perhaps the most potentially abused. Just one more reason not to take our duties seriously as the most intelligent species on the planet. No, I don't think it's wise to delve too deeply into reincarnation.
but perhaps it's just not so simple as being certain... and any of these things could certainly make it awkward indeed.
