Actually your premise is wrong.

The programs we have in place now, such as foster care for example, does nothing to keep our children safe. Kids in foster care are abused, sexually assaulted and even go missing. In some cases they are given to homes where you wouldn't want to leave your pet.

I can recall one case in my life where a foster care mother basically collected her money, and locked the kids out at night. She would spend most of her evenings at the Casino. The 15 year old that I knew would often be left outside, sitting on the doorstep, just waiting to see if her "Foster Mom" was going to make it home or not.

The problem is not "conservative policies" or "liberal policies". The real problem is the people put in place to oversee these policies and the corruption that surrounds them.

Of course I am sure blaming one side and ignoring the other helps you sleep at night

True, however the aim and goal should be to find the root cause and cure the illness in our society to the maximum extent instead of blaming the political system. Surely there isn't a 100% fix for everything.

I read the title to this thread and knew exactly who wrote it.

The op lives in denial. He thinks that the conservatives are responsible for all the wrong in the world.

I do not consider taking advantage of children in any way to be considered an "illness" nor do I have any interest in a "cure". If it were up to me, child molestation would be punishable by the death penalty. In my perfect world, people who rape, molest or exploit children would be put on their own island to fend for themselves and prey on themselves.

Conservatives want to cut education spending more and more. And this is the result.

One poster put it. "but this happens in big cities and all big cities are liberal" but the budget for education in those cities comes from the state legislature and many times those are conservative controlled.

There is a reason they do this. A highly educated public tends to be more liberal thinking.

Perhaps the real point is about how much all the crime adds up to as well as the 'cost' to society in general.

The 'uneducated' population commits violent crime and financial crime. One murder - one robbery - one victim - one criminal for example.

How much does that equal compared to the financial and violent crimes committed by 'educated' people ?

Mass murders in wars. Massive financial scams, all on a global scale for example.

Think about it.

You do realize that all the recessions, depressions, financial crises, all the wars, etc. etc. are ALL caused by the 'educated' class.
